So me and my fanatic egalitarian federation friend are planning out our next MP playthrough. We need to beat the warmongers, slavers, and purgers in the galaxy, which has become very difficult in 3.0+, lost every game so far whereas before that we beat them every time. So we're reconsidering some of our personal roleplay rules. We will keep our "no wars of conquest, no stealing pops" rule for our egalitarian federation. But, we have come to the conclusion that the new pop growth numbers are way too harsh for our roleplay to be viable, so we will be allowing "peaceful subject integration" and roleplaying it as voluntary referendum to join our utopias. Which means, I can make Rogue Servitors work much more easily. We will still spam habitats, but having another source of pop growth should even the playing field with the warmongers a bit.

My question is: if I decide to go rogue servitors our next playthrough, should I go ringworld origin? Or void dwellers and then build my rings later?

Ring Whirled for the insurance.

Regular Habitats are good for RS even without the VD bonus, so you're not missing out on that option when you want to expand living space for your starting organics, but with all the building slots on your starting ring segment that will be quite some time.

Ringworld. And liberate any and all organic you can find on the slave market. Pampering is mandatory!

I don't think the subject integration will help your rogue servitors. Having to many bio trophies will seriously hamper your pop growth for the robots.

Also void dwellers start isn't available to gestalts. I would say it's also much weaker than ringworld so.
From role-playing perspective I feel like ringworld also fits so much better. It will also be really strong once you get 50-100 biotrophies going there with the increase in specialist drone output.
