I know that Victoria 3 is very early to talk about robotics, but how automation will be represented? Will they be represented by bonuses and modifiers? Or will be a new kind of pop?

Presumably with mods you could change and/or reduce the kind of pops a factory needs. Maybe a robot driven one doesn't need any laborers, and instead only requires a small number of "clerks", or the equivalent.

I doubt that sorta thing will be a big part of the base game, though.

Makes workers useless.
(on how softdrink cans are made)
Imagine you or any human could produce a single such can in their entire remaining lives given tools like hammers and such and even shows a bauxite mine.
With the task to extract bauxite, turn it into aluminium and craft a single can? I doubt a single can could be produced in a single human lifetime. You would have no problems carving fancy wooden cans from logs eventually tho.

Still it is a good bit after the game.

What we have seen (I think) is that Capitalists seek to maximize profits in setting wages and employment levels. Increased production bonuses will increase production of a good which will lower prices of that good in the market which will lower profits. Wages and employment levels will be adjusted acordingly to maximize profits increasing un-employment. That is at least how I think it will work.

I just hope there will be wage competition between different jobs, so that high paying jobs will drive up wages for other jobs, and vice versa.

I think they said wages depend on profits and life expenses of the pops. So pops will agree to earn less if they can get by on less.
