Has there been any indication if robot pops generate xenophobia? Would a fanatic xenophobe care about robot pops in the same way he'd care about those slimy bird folks or some gross, barely sentient thing that doesn't even have the dignity to have sexual dimorphism?

On one hand it makes sense that sentient AIs would inspire the same kind of fear/hatred matrix as bio-xenos, but if you've made them yourself... Maybe not?

I suppose that like the slimy bird pops it is fine as long as those robots know their rightful place as servants.

In a hundred years time, I will be dead and some other scientist will exist in my place. Whether that scientist is my great-granddaughter, some human from somewhere else entirely, a machine or a squid-eyed beetle alien, I will be happy to call them my heir. Similarly, whomever follows in the footsteps of human civilisation is an honorary human, at least to me, and I want to play as them.
Makes me think of Saturn's Children by Charles Stross for some reason.
