Hi there, after Synth Ascension, ive noticed that my roboticists are not creating the pops that I want them to make.
Consider this image:
lXUVocB.png

Note: The pop that is constructing on the left is the modded ascended pop, the pop that is constructing on the right is a nonmodded synth. (After I synth ascend, I delete all my old robot pops and replace them with copies of my new ascended pop to clear up my species list ).

My roboticists on my older planets (interestingly only the ones that were colonized pre-ascension) always want to produce the plain robot pop. The roboticists on the newer planets naturally make the ascended pop. (UPDATE: The new planets produce some ascended pops, then the bug affects them and changes their production to robot pops for an unknown reason)

Now you might say that I should lock the production to the ascended pop, but the game does not allow me to do that, even if I go into the save file and edit it to produce the ascended pop, it will revert to producing the robot pop after finishing the construction of one pop.

Things I've tried:
--It is not affected by the current population of the planet, and if there are already preexisting robots there.
--It does not change if the game is reset.
--Modifying your entire ascended population does not allow you to select it

Does anyone else have this problem?

I have managed to "fix" it once, but then I did some species modification and the bug is happening again.

This is because Paradox still hasn't made it so that when you ascend, synths are merged into your ascended species, so you end up with two species.

I'm guessing you're egalitarian, and therefore, barred from what templates/species you can select to be built.

Both of these are problematic, in my opinion--having synth+ascended species has always been kinda strange and caused a few edge case problems; this problem is really made obvious with this patch.

I also don't personally think that egalitarian should bar you from selecting templates for robots, droids, or synths (even if they have rights). It's always been a hallmark of machines that you can custom tailor make them for a more direct advantage.

As much as I wish it was that problem, it isn't, as I am not egalitarian but fanMat/militarist.

I can easily click on the other two options, but mashing left click on the last image doesn't do anything at all.

I agree though, it's always irked me that ascending does not turn your robots into your primary species, for the sake of cleaning up your species list and to simplify things. Hopefully Paradox can consider that in the future.

I have the exact same issue

The only workaround I found was building only good old synth variations instead of my ascended main specie but that will leave me very vulnerable to the contingency...

Yeah and it also clutters up the species list with ascended pops and synth pops. If only ascension merged the two into one.

I don't know this is intended or not (bug maybe)but you can assimilate those normal robot pop into your ascended robot pop in the species right tap. So I think this is not a big problem till now.
