Is it possible to ensure that growables orientate themselves towards a particular road, if the plot is bounded by two or more roads?

For example, at a junction of an avenue and a road, I want my commercial growable to face the avenue, not the road.

I get so annoyed when the growable faces the "wrong" way and my main street has some commercial buildings facing inwards towards the residential districts.

I don't know of a way to do this, either.
What I do is just monitor the plot and watch it grow/construct. If it not facing the way I desire, I delete it (bulldoze) while it is still in its construction phase (or wait until it's completely built, and destroy it), and then wait for the game to try again with a new growable structure (Sometimes you have to keep repeating the process, until the random chance falls in your favor).
It is a pain to "babysit," but don't know of any other way around it.
If there is a way to control this, it would be great.

I've got a few ways of dealing with these depending on the situation. They do require mods though. One way is to use Building Eyedropper Tool to copy the building (mouse over it and hit T), orient it the right way and place it. It'll destroy the one facing the wrong way and keep facing the right way when upgrading. You'll only have to come back if it gets abandoned or burns down.

Another way I use for longer stretches of road where I don't want zoning on one side of the road (which might apply to your smaller back road) is place a pedestrian path in it. I use Network Skins to remove the lamp post and Fine Road Anarchy to let me overlap the path and the road. It gives me a little wider sidewalk and removes the zoning on the side of the road where I don't want it.

I always leave one row of zoning free at the end of the road I want the buildings to face. If I don't want buildings to face the other road at the junction then it's probably an important thoroughfare and will need space to be upgraded, and will probably use the spare zoned space.

... and keep facing the right way when upgrading. You'll only have to come back if it gets abandoned or burns down.

You bring up a good point that I did not think about. When the growable is first constructed, and is facing the direction I want it to, I assume that when it upgrades itself later, that it will continue to face in the same direction.
But is this true ? Or is there a possibility that the growable could turn and face in the other direction when it upgrades ?
(All my questions/points here, are under the assumption that there are no use of special mods to force/trick it to grow in a particular direction.)
