aye, and each river should be of unique--after all, different rivers posed different challenges, width, depth, current speed, etc...
No need to get that detailed, as the only rivers represented in the game are the major rivers. However (you just knew that there would be a "but", didn't you?):
There are really large and very wide rivers, like the Amazon, Mississippi, Po, Rhine, Danube or Dneiper, and then there are the "medium" large rivers, like the Daugva, Moisel, much of the Thames, etc., etc. Some of these rivers vary in terms of their military effects, depending on where you are in a country (
i.e. the closer to the source, the smaller it is).
I would create two classes of rivers, say a category "1" and a category "2". These could be rated by a different symbol on the "Between Provinces" little map on the province display. These would have different stat's for affecting the combat multipliers if an attack developed.
I am guessing that all these multipliers and game mechanisms already exist, and this would be a
relatively easy change to impliment.
Also, when the river got below level "2", it would just stop being shown on the map as a military obstacle.
Finally, as to names--I can live without them, but they would be nice... Having seen how "busy" the map is now, where it is difficult to pick out one object over another, I would favor some game switch, where you could turn the names on permanently (like province ID numbers), rather have to "Hover" the mouse coursor over some length of the river.
