Can somebody explain how I have a river crossing penalty that is -2 and how I got it in the first place?
My army of Swabia came from the north, the province of Fulda into Aschaffenburg. It already had a Clevian army in place, around 5k. My stack engaged this, the Bohemian army came in from Wurzburg.
What I'm not understanding is why the river penalty is -2, in most cases I've found it to be -1 but in rare occassions I've seen it jump to -2. From my knowledge you can negate a riving crossing penalty if your general has higher manoeuvre than the enemies general.
In this case, I clearly have way higher manoeuvre than both armies. There is no fort in the province I am engaging the battle in. Is the -2 associated with the size of the river? I'm so confused
