Risky escapades event sucks.

I get this event quite a lot: some random vassal is concerned because of my risky escapades and gets a -15 to his opinion of me.

This all while I've been sitting on my throne all the while and doing nothing whatsoever risky. No hunts, no wars, nothing. Wtf is this nonsense?

It is because you character has got a Brave trait. So even if you are doing nothing, you charater acts as a brave one. So he is doing all that amazing but dangerous stuff, it is logical that some of your vassals are afraid for his life and health. You should be glad, that they care. :happy:

I agree. I think it should be a potential result of a event decision. You should be able to choose not to adventure, and risk losing Brave or something similar.

A random -15 to a king or the pope will be annoying. It's more of a big deal when this event pops up thrice a year for some reason.

This doesn't annoy me as much as other random events. The ones that really annoy me are losing good traits randomly. I had a character who lost brave and diligent randomly from an event pop up. I'd have rather gotten a -15 opinion hit with some vassal or courtier than lose those traits.

Yes, both the brave event and the randomly removing positive traits bugs me to no end. I've tried looking for the events to remove them but can't find where they are :/

It could be worse. It could be a "You were doing something brave and reckless and now you're maimed" randomly each year.

I do agree that it should be a decision.

A: No, I will be brave (take -15 relationship penalty, same as the vanilla event)
B: You are right, I should be more careful (+25 relationship boost, lose the brave trait)
C: I'm just getting warmed up, check THIS out! (-25 relationship penalty, 50% to gain 1 marshal, 25% to be wounded, 20% to gain maimed, 5% your ruler dies!)

Or just trigger the event when the character is leading an army or doing a hunt or active as spymaster/marshal.

Didn't they do something like this in EU3W, where the comet gives you 4 or 5 options with the same end result?

I guess they feel that they have to do something with the trait since it gives you a plus 10 opinion with all your vassals. Having a -15 every so often, temporarily, with someone is a decent price to pay for a permanent plus 10 boost.
