we should have an event for the French deciding wether or not to actualy create Israel. It would be unfair for the player to have no choice in creating it, or keeping it for the Republic!!!!

I think we should have an interesting event on the 1798 Irish rebellion.

basically the French were going to launch an expedition to Irish at Bantray Bay with 15,000 men. They were accompanied by Theobald Wolfe Tone, leader of the United Irishmen. This happened in December 1796. How could we simulate this event? I mean, it could have succeeded if the weather was better or if the French had more patience.

heres what Wikipedia has to say about it!
Despite their growing strength, the United Irish leadership decided to seek military help from the French revolutionary government, and to postpone the rising until French troops landed in Ireland. The leader of the United Irishmen Theobald Wolfe Tone travelled to revolutionary France to press the case for intervention and these plans seemed to come to fruition when he accompanied a force of 15,000 French troops under General Hoche which eluded the Royal Navy and arrived off the coast of Ireland at Bantry Bay in December 1796. However unremitting storms, indecisiveness and poor seamanship all combined to prevent invasion, prompting the despairing Wolfe Tone to remark, "England has had its luckiest escape since the Armada".

also we can also expand the 1798 rebellion.
Maybe we could do the same thing for Ireland like in VIP for Hungary in 1848/49 etc...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Rebellion_of_1798
I mean, several thousand French troops landed in Ireland to help the Irish rebels. we have leaders, like Tone, Humbert, Joseph Holt etc etc.
We could have events for the French to send aid or actual troops to Ireland. We could turn it into something very very interesting. So the revolt, instead of some revolters appearing in Dublin, we can have Ireland declaring independance in Dublin, and from there, little revolter armies of Irish armies appear all over in the areas they rose up! I'll draw up a map for were they rose up... I thoguth at first, before i researched it, that we would just have 1 revolter or 2 in Ireland, but now, we can sort this out into a proper war!!!!

Kaiser, what I think would be needed is an event that ONLY fires if the French control at least two provinces in Ireland. I can't see any other way to do it and be fair to the English. And if they LET the French land, then they deserve a full fledged Irish rebellion. :D Testing the English, I have yet to let a single French ship out of my Blockades. So if as the french you can slip a fleet by the Brits, then I say then would be a good time to fire the event.

BUT the English will probably descend on your soon to be unsupported French and Irish armies like a thunderbolt.

But I do like the idea for the event. As it was a viable historical option. So I will create it, will need ideas for events to either expand or wipe out the revolt.

just like to state that the 1798 rebellion event idea and concepts are different to the French 1796 attempted landings etc etc.

I mean, we should have an event for if the French have a few parts of Ireland, they can spark a revolt in their support. If the French conquer all of Ireland they should get the right to release it!

But other than that we should have a proper Irish-English war in game terms for the 1798 rebellion, and the French get yet another event to ask if they should help out fully, send aide, or just sit it out completly, and then we'd have proper events for Irish victory, or the historical defeat etc.

heres a map of how i think it should look:

ignore the blue borders as i did this before your suggestion, which is far better!

was doing a bit of research while i was absent from the world of the internet.

found some very interesting stuff.

Heres a very intersting possible event.....the Burr conspiracy.

Basically, former Vice-President Aaron Burr wanted to break the western states and territories of the USA from the Union, set up his own western Republic and conquer Texas and the northern provinces of New Spain (Mexico). From this he could rule his new Empire.

In 1805, Burr went west to recruit people to start his expedition against Texas and Mexico. He gained the support of New Orleans Catholic Bishop and Mexican Criollos.
In 1806, he went back west to get more recruits and supplies, using his major supporter, Harman Blennerhassett, land. He owned an island down the Ohio river that Burr and his allies used to store suppluies etc.
The Governor of Ohio grew suspicious of the activity and ordered his militia to raid the island. Harman Blennerhassett escaped and met up with Burr at his headquarters on the Cumberland river. From there they took a smaller force and went down to the Ohio river, into the Mississippi river and down to New Orleans. General James Wilkinson, who supported Burr, vowed to give his men supplies, but then, seeing the plan was lost, told the authorities.

Burr and his conspirators were arrested and put on trial fro treason.

so we could have a chain of events were his plan succeeds and he does break the western states away from the Union and marches on Northern Mexico and Texas.

also looked at some stuff on Toussaint L'Ouverture and his relationship with the USA. I'll post that up later.

I thank you all for revising this. One thing though- Vicky exe may let you play pre 1836 but you can't research anything unless you change the date back to 1836.

Not true, it's possible to research before 1836. You've to add the year = xxxx for every tech and then you can research before 1836.

Take a look at my 1815 mod in which you can research before 1836. Where did you put the line with year = 1500? It should be, at least I've done that and it works, below the time but before the effects.
