I'm still around, but I can barely find the time to work on my own stuff.
Glad you've got it sorted out though.

So am I. I was worried that I would have to drop the mod, but I found that backup and now all is good. :D

A small update, I have done the following today

Added the following events, all are for the US;
Postal Service Act
Coinage Act
Buttonwood Agreement
Kentucky Statehood
Founding of Washington DC
The Fugitive Slave Act of 1793

Made the following changes;
Moved the American Capital to Philadelphia
Changed Kentucky back into a colony
Got the Age of Revolutions loading and front end gfx to work. So when loading the mod you will now see Nappy instead of Vicky or her troops. :D

Good to know the mod is alive!
Is there a way to install it over Ricky? I mean what do I need to do to play the mod? Thanks.

It will be for V:R. That is why I have to go and redo the soldier pops for the mod. The French regiments went from a strength of 1100 men to 64 men! :wacko: All because V:R does not allow a scenario to start with negative manpower so reduces all your forces till you have a zero balance.

It skews slightly the reality of the number of actual troops in 1702, but not so much as to make it unrealistic. As of right now the French produce 3.84 manpower a month! And cannot convert any more pops to soldiers. The same will go with the rest of the nations as I redo their pops. :)

What do this operations include? Maybe it can be speed up by some mass editing via search-and-replace? I was able to convert all capitalists, clerks and craftsmens to labourers pretty quickly in my test mod using UltraEdit. (But that scenario is pretty boring...)

The only thing I had to do was refigure the soldier pops in the French provinces. Not hard, just boring as heck. :D

Also, with the conversion to V:R, if I wish to keep the build divisions instead of the add divisions commands I am going to add their cost in funds to the event. In my latest run through the French went bankrupt twice just trying to build their historical regiments! Now that I have the money added I will give it a run through and see if they go broke or not. If it works I will begin adding that to all the nations troop raising events.

Oh by the way, my changes to the canned food tech and redoing the costs for pop conversion and unit building, the armies stay pretty historical. :cool:

Have you tried to compare files from the crashing version and the backup version? Some tools highlight the differences very well and it could be a way to find what change caused the bug...

What tool does that? I do not have any modding tools for Vicky. All I use is wordpad and PSP. Could you recommend a good tool for modding?

Added The following events,

Austria;
Death of Leopold II

Sweden;
Death of Gustav III

France;
Border rectifications for Wuerttemburg and Cis Rep
German states allying with France, Rhine Palatinate, Saxe-Weimar, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Hesse-Kassel, Bavaria, Saxony and Hesse-Darmstadt.
The allying events are the pre cursors for the Confederation of the Rhine event. Each one raises a flag called Confed_Rhine by one. The flag is set by the treaty of Shoenbrunn event between Prussia and France. They also raise a flag called FRA_Germany. That is a flag that will set off the Prussians in 1806 by switching their AI's and having them declare war against France. :cool:

US;
1793 Neutrality Act
First NY Newspaper, the American Minerva

Finalized the following AI's,
Austria, France, Prussia Pre 1806, Prussia post 1806, Russia Pre 1812, Russia post 1812, Cis Rep, Sardinia-Piedmont, All Greman Minor states.

All in all, I have been a busy beaver the last couple of days. :D

You could try WinMerge: http://winmerge.org/
It's an Open Source software under GPL, and it works well if you want to compare two files. Just look at the screenshots.

Have you refigured the soldier pops for all countries so the mod works with V:R?
And what about Duchy of Varsovie? What's it status?

Thanks for the link. :) Yeah it is being designed with V:R first and foremost.

As I redo the nations OOB to fit the regimental scheme I am implementing I change the soldier pops. So far I have done England, France, Austria, USA, and last night I finished Sardinia-Piedmont. England is producing 1.88 manpower per month, France 2.93 manpower, Austria 1.36 manpower, USA .42 manpower and Sardinia-Piedmont .93 manpower. So I think my ratios are pretty good and on target. :)

As for Poland and the Duchy of Warsaw, I have the Polish partitions done and the Duchy is scheduled to appear with the Treaty of Tilsit.

So far the leaders planned are Jan Henryk Dabrowski, Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Józef Poniatowski, Józef Zajaczek, and if I can find some pics these fellows, Władysław Jabłonowski, Józef Wybicki.

Here is the Grand Duchy of Warsaw's OOB;

When the Grand Duchy of Warsaw is formed they get the following troops;

Infantry
1st Infantry Regiment (1.707 men)

2nd Infantry Regiment (1.707 men)

3rd Infantry Regiment (1.707 men)

4th Infantry Regiment (1.808 men)

5th Infantry Regiment (1.933 men)

6th Infantry Regiment (1.635 men)

7th Infantry Regiment (1.817 men)

8th Infantry Regiment (1.539 men)

Cavalry
1st Chasseur-a-Cheval Regiment (745 men)

2nd Uhlan Regiment (880 men)

one artillery battalion of foot

Raised mid 1807:

Infantry
9th Infantry Regiment (1.945 men)

10th Infantry Regiment (1,635 men)

11th Infantry Regiment (1539 men)

12th Infantry Regiment (1.178 men)

Cavalry
3rd Uhlan Regiment (719 men)

4th Chasseur-a-Cheval Regiment (691 men)

5th Chasseur-a-Cheval Regiment (596 men)

6th Uhlan Regiment (691 men)

and two artillery battalions

1808

1 Battalion of horse Artillery

1809

Infantry
13th Infantry Regiment (3.435 men)

14th Infantry Regiment (2.852 men)

15th Infantry Regiment (3.422 men)

16th Infantry Regiment (2.338 men)

17th Infantry Regiment (2.561 men)

18th Infantry Regiment (1.985 men)

Cavalry
7th Uhlan Regiment (840 men in 4 squadrons)

8th Uhlan Regiment (954 men in 4 squadrons)

9th Uhlan Regiment (936 men in 4 squadrons)

10th Hussar Regiment - "Golden Hussars" (803 men)

11th Uhlan Regiment (899 men in squadrons)

12th Uhlan Regiment (943 men in squadrons)

13th Hussar Regiment - "Silver Hussars" (1.048 men !)

14th Cuirassier Regiment (610 men in 2 squadrons)

15th Uhlan Regiment (916 men in 4 squadrons)

16th Uhlan Regiment (661 men in 4 squadrons)

1810

1 battalion of Horse Artillery

When they get back Lithuania they get to recruit

Infantry
19th Infantry Regiment (929 men)

20th Infantry Regiment (1.014 men)

21st Infantry Regiment (1.197 men)

22nd Infantry Regiment (1.133 men)

Cavalry
17th Uhlan Regiment

18th Uhlan Regiment

19th Uhlan Regiment

20th Uhlan Regeiment

21st Uhlan Regiment

Lithuanian_Tartar Squadron

If you have any ideas for Polish events for the Duchy of Warsaw, by all means suggest them. :)

Wow, your ODB is impressive. Without looking through sources I cannot say if something is missing or at wrong date (for me it seems like too many cavalry in 1809, and too little new troops before the war of 1812, also what about the Vistula Legion?) - actually it's great!

Still if the mod starts in 1792 there should be also the oob for the pre-partition army that has a war to fight in 1792 (defence of the constitution) and the Kosciuszko's Uprising...

As for the generals the numbers seem pretty low compared to number of regiments. Do you plan to have only army/corps level commanders or divisional commanders too?

I will look for some important events. Those that come to mind are about Bayonne, recruiting troops from Duchy but paid by France, propably some dealing with eventual war of 1809 if other events can lead to this (taking land from Austria) also something in case the 1812 war will be won (taking land from Russia), possible defection to Russian side or capitulation after the 1812 disaster.

Wybicki was only a general-major of militia during the Kosciuszko's Uprising and later only helped to form the Legions, but in fact he was rather a politician.

There's a lot of generals of division if you would like to include them... I can supply the data.

Sure, any data you can provide would be very helpful. As for the OOBs, I could only find information on the Duchy's military, nothing on the Confederation's military before the partitions. So if you could provide that information I will be more than happy to include it. Also if you find any faults with the Duchy's OOB, by all means provide the correct data and I will change it ASAP. :)

Ok, I will provide you with a list of generals that during the period achieved at least the rank of general of division (or equivalent).

Also I will try to look at the regiments - the Polish army in 1792 was around 40 000 men.

As for the screenie: why is USA so eager to make alliances with the Indians? :)

The Indian alliances are scripted like that to prevent the UK and Spain from gobbling them up. Thanks for any info you may be able to provide. :)

Ok these errors that have no reason is becoming tiresome.

The events below at one time were working! Then for some inexplicable reason they stopped working. As a diagnostic attempt I even renumbered them the same exact number, the game did not give one error! The only thing I can figure is that for some reason the game stopped seeing them because I renamed the txt file and then an error occurred. It does not see these events only. :confused:

Maybe someone can see something I can't, or maybe someone else has had this problem.

Hopefully ANYBODY can help.

I'm sure you thought of this, but did you change the name of the file in the .txt file where your events are read?

Yeah I renamed it and that was when the only error notice I got appeared. It recognises the txt file, it sees all the other events, only these events are not seen. The wierd thing is they were working. :(

So it's another event that is causing the part of the file to be not parsed by the engine. Maybe a brace is missing or a line break between " " causes the error or some % or \ character in string is the problem. I would suggest looking at preceding events...
