Last time I used it Muhammad got beaten by the Sassanids before ever unifying Arabia, and then faded into irrelevance.

Will it fire even if Sassanids or their Lakhmid puppets control Medina and the Makkah?
In other words, what are the conditions for it to fire at all?

Experimental dynamic won't fire at all without being triggered by console, experimental historical has no other requirement than the year.

Got it. How does it work in the specific? Does Makkah automatically change to islamic with an islamic ruler and event spawned troops on the year of the mohameddan conquest? I didn't pay attention last run and I turned to Arabia only to find RoI already ongoing.
