Can't make a post to the bug report forum for some reason so....

Yeah when I complete the ring world scaffold the game freezes for a second then CTDs.
First time it happened while I was zoomed into the system when it completed and the second time I was on the galaxy map.

Can't find any help on the topic.

I can confirm this problem, after completing the frame of the ring world the game crashes after clickin past the event. I had already taken a ring world system from a fallen in war, could this be the issue?

To be honest i think I have found the solution to my problem in the wiki. The game gave me the option to build my ringworld aroud a pulsar eventhough, according to the wiki, you are not supposed to be able to do that. So I think that with the completition of the frame the game just crashes beacause an unauthorized structure has been built. I sent a message to the devs and as soon as I get a message back from them that would confirm or disband my theory I shall forward it here in this forum.

Interesting. I do believe mine was also built around a Pulsar also, due to it lookin badass. I also noticed that I did not seem to get any achievements, even though I was playing on Ironman.

I've got the same problem here and I build my ringworld around a pulsar too. But the question now is. Are the save games trashed now or is there a way to delete the ringworld. I hope so because I dont want to waste the hours I put into the save game.

Someone from PDX managed to use 'QA magic' to save a couple peoples games from this issue (though said QA magic might also cause them to crash unrecoverably down the line too)
Hopefully this fix makes it into 1.5.1

There's nothing in the actual coding that states it can't be built around a pulsar or neutron star, though the wiki does state this. At least according to the txt. file I was looking at.

Is it possible that the wrong build of the DLC was uploaded? Or the megastructure is not finished?

I'm going to go ahead and propose a fix for some of the issues labeled here, generating from my very limited understanding of the files. Only thing I know is that I read them, and hopefully am understanding them correctly.

I actually just deleted my save as I had not been gettin achievements that I had clearly completed. Such as completing the Sphere or the Aria.

I created this account just to reply to your comment. Could you please tell me what I need to do to recover my save? I spent over 15 hours before the game crashed due to this issue.

Having the same issue here.

Attempting to complete the Ring world scaffold, game crashes everytime, regardless of being in a system view, galaxy view, time set to slow/normal/fast etc......

The ring world is built around a Class A star in a system with no special features and no habitable planets. There are a bunch of barren/frozen planets with two of them having mineral resource that is not being mined.

From the way the game behaves, it looks like the issue might be with the event part that removes the planets, since when I confirm the "ring world scaffold complete" event, the scaffolding spawns, I get the -5 credits maintenance penalty, then the planets in the system are removed but before the system "reorganizes" itself to adapt to the ring world, the game crashes.

I looked into the megastructure folder to see if there might be any issue, but the particular event looks ok to me:

I am currently out of options on how to fix this, and would like some advice regarding this, again the system has no special features, no pulsars, blackholes etc..... so there isn't any guarantee that it won't happen in a completely new game again...
