the version that comes with Gamersgate, version 2.01, is the latest version of the game. This is also the version that comes via the Paradoxshop.com hard copy version of Revolutions.
And unless you purchased the game from Gamersgate in Aug or Sep 2006 (where the previous version 1.04 was still used, and a patch attached to the gamersgate download setup for purchasers to add), you almost certainly have the current version.
To confirm you do, load up the game, and at the menu where you choose single player/multiplayer, look in the upper right hand corner of the screen. In small red letters you should see "Victoria 2.01" (or depending on your screen resolution, perhaps just "Victoria 2."
