Revolution is tanking my economy...

Title says it all. I'm playing a fairly blobby Ottoman Empire and most of Europe has converted to the revolution. The problem is that revolutionary spread is rampant in my empire and it's totally tanking my economy because of the increased autonomy. I can't even embrace the revolution because 100%...seriously...of my provinces have to be converted? That's stupid as my economy will totally collapse long before I can reach all of my 100's if not 1000's of provinces. Is there a way to work around this? It's seriously making the game a lot less fun as I don't have any reasonable counter.

You might not like this solution, but you can lower your absolutism.

The minimum autonomy you get from revolution is 50% of absolutism.

So at 100% absolutism, that's 50% autonomy to all provinces before autonomy reduction bonuses. if you enact the estate privileges, you can cut the penalty down nicely a few notches. There's also various actions u can do to tank absolutism (check the wiki)

Let the revolution disaster fire when its spread to 20% of your country. Then take the options to fight the revolution in the disaster events. This should stop the spread.

After 30 years with no great power becoming revolutionary, the rev spread should disappear from all provinces entirely.

You cannot do anything, it is totally stupid, because if you have like 3 Stability and 100 legetimicy you are still doomed in that sense^^. You will have to wait or become the revolution. The revolution was so changed, that it is bascicially impossible for the ai not to fall, it sucks more than it is fun, just another half finished feature from emperor, they should have just put missions into the game and changed hre no one really plays past 1650-1700 if they dont go for achievments or WC.

What if there already is a revolutionary target though and you can't crush it?

It will spread all over and u have the debuffs, the spreading achievment is kind of hard, because of how fast the ai switches. I had to go out of Europe for it as France, Mutapa and Brunei where my targets ^^.
