How many times have we seen countries in EU capture provinces they don't have direct borders with? i would say about 100 times per game. this is really annoying, as often those countries can choose between those provinces and provinces that they do border with. so, i'm suggesting a few ways to solve this.
1) make it clear for the AI that it should capture provinces that border it's mainland over the provinces it doesn't.
a) in alliance wars, when for example wallachia in alliance with turkey captures sinai and pest, it should be able to transfer these provinces to turkish control, as their soldiers are actually only helping the turkish soldiers. and of course turkey wouldn't allow their puny vassals to capture and control new territory that they have both been fighting for. so, if wallachia allied to turkey captures sinai, and turkey makes peace with the mamelukes, turkey should be allowed to take sinai, and not wallachia. all modern warfare would be unrecognisable if this was the case in real life.
b) if this can't be implemented, then we should be able to exchange and SELL provinces in times of peace. for example turkey offers wallachia 500D for their province of sinai or gives wallachia banat or serbia (these are just random names). selling provinces should be implemented, because it happened so many times in history that it just MUSTN'T be disregarded.
2) if none of these i suggested above can be implemented, surely over time that province will revolt. and now comes the strangest part. for example, navarra captures modena, and of course, since they can't transport troops to quell the rebellion, modena revolts and sooner or later the rebels take the province. and as much as 100 years pass and modena doesn't claim independence even it was an independent state ten years ago? what the hell?? this should be fixed by all means. i have seen this happen a couple of times but way to rare.
3) if spain controls ansbach and austria controls bavaria, and they both revolt, why couldn't the new revolting nation of bavaria, that has CB shields on both provinces, be created from the both provinces instead of just one? why aren't revolts allowed across international borders? an explanation would be enough here, but i don't think it would be hard to implement. and why couldn't revolting provinces that border it's original mainland go back to the motherland instead of staying revolted and without chance to ever change owner. and wouldn't those rebels try to join their former state, or at least form their own, random one? why is this impossible??

This has been talked about before, in one way or another, and it is often that a nation offering peace offers a worthless province...More often than not that province is not on the border between the two waring nations.
