Hi folks. I'm trying to resolve a question that's cropped up in the Bug Forum and thought I'd turn to you folks to see if anyone's got a quick answer to save me from going through a series of tests.
In a nutshell, the unconfirmed opinion seems to be that:
1 - A revolter always takes on the culture of its new capital province. Is this true?
2 - the revolt.txt file can be edited to apply a different culture to a revolter by adding the line -->
culture = x
(where "x" is the culture you want them to have).
To the best of my knowledge, this is true. Yes?
3 - The opinion on #2 above is that this overrides the new capital province culture so, applying that to this Manchu case, if the revolter province that it forms from happens to have Manchurian culture and you add the line culture = han to MCH's revolter entry in the revolt.txt file then Manchu would have han culture but not Manchurian. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?
4 - If #2 and #3 are correct, what is the correct format of a statement )or statements) to give a revolter 2 cultures? Would you use 2 seperate lines? Can you somehow use the "addculture" command used in event scripting instead? I notice with considerable interest that there is no instance of a revolter gaining more than one culture in the revolt.txt file. This seems odd considering that many of the listed countries begin the game with multiple cultures. Imagine a case where the Ottomans have been annexed and then form again by revolt. They only get Turkish culture!
This makes me wonder if perhaps multiple cultures can't be assigned in the revolt text.
5. I was thinking that if it can't be done, perhaps a series of events could be scripted for these multi-culture countries to give them those cultures they "should" have after they form...or perhaps there's a good argument against this? Comments? Anyone feel like trying a sample event script?
Any help on any of the above would be appreciated...both to help answer Gjerg's question and to satisfy my curiosity.
