Revoke barony from vassal of vassal duke...

Sort of a weird situation. As a king, I wanted to consolidate my duchies, so in my non-capital duchy I fabricated a claim on a county that was currently held by a bishop and revoked it. So far, so good. The problem is that the castle in that county is held by a count, whose liege is a duke of mine. Is there any way for me to grab the barony short of retracting the count from the duke's vassalage and then revoking the county? 'Cause I'm not sure how much I want to piss of my duke.

Nah, I reckon it's only possible by inheriting it, since you can't revoke holdings from non-direct vassals and it seems that you're not willing to have any trouble with that duke just yet.

Retract his vassal (the Baron) or revoke his Duchy then the baron should be your vassal. Which you are able to revoke but will probably piss off the other vassals.

Try giving the baron a count-level title or above. That should sever his current obligations.

He's already a count, that's why he can be someone else's vassal

Then give him a duchy

Give him a duchy then proceed to plot revoke the said barony. If he resists your demands, good for you, one free revocation after the war. If he don't resists, that's good for you too.

He's already a count, that's why he can be someone else's vassal

He can be another person's vassal despite being a baron.
