Hi guys, maybe you can help me find what I am missing here:

I am currently playing Charlemagne as Charlmagne :) and I conquered Saxony. To get those tribal holdings changed into feudal ones I decided to replace the tribal lords with frankish guys.

First this didn't work because the crown law of their Chiefdoms (Saxony, Holstein and Brunswick) didn't allow revocation. So I decided to switch crown law of their de jure kingdom (Saxony) to "low".

Now I could revoke titels in Holstein and Saxony, but not in Brunswick. I'm sure I am missing something but I thought the de jure crownlaw always determins the law of its de jure lands. When trying to revoke the title it says with a big red X: The Crown Authority of the Highchiefdom of Brunswick allows revocation. Which of course doesn't work because of that red X. But I cannot access the crown law of Brunswick, since it is my vassal. So how am I going to change it or alternativly replace those guys in Highchiefdom of Brunswick?

It can also be their form of govt. Some forms dont allow revocation regardless of what level the law is at. If you dont want to "cheat" then what I suggest is grant them independence and declare war on them and just take their lands rather than vassaling

Thanks for the tip that was most likely the reason, though I don't understand why there needs to be this mechanism in the game I have no idea how to influence... I just let time pass and about a decade later I was able to revocate. :)

yeah... there are lots of mechanics that just pop up. It could be that the vassal was protected from "hostile" actions for 10 years because of a truce. I think there might be a difference between if they surrender or you enforce demands.

What always gets me is imprisoning people for plots - sometimes you can revoke other times you cant

Check the status of the Imprison option. If he is going to say no to Imprisonment, try imprisoning him anyways. That will put him in an open rebellion, which should be just cause for revocation.

I don't know if this will work, this is just my idea.

Very good point about the imprisonment, I will keep that in mind for next time!

Regarding imprisonment its weird anyways, once I was able to revoke 2 titles from a traitor instead of just 1. Never found out why and how to make this happen...

You probably had a strong claim on one of the titles.
