So When reviewing candidates to be on your colony, i have a list of 128 to choose from, On my 400 plus day colony, To come and live in my elongated oval dome. And going through the list, there is only 4 countrys from where these 128 candidates come from. Surely that is a mistake ?

I would obviosuly like to see UK candidates , and other countrys on the list. Not just the 4 that have been selected. My sponsor is europe, there are more than 4 countries in europe.

I hope more countries can be added on to the list of where these candidates come from. Thanks.

I noticed it was limited too. I'm from the US so I was only surprised. Their choices for inclusion are, shall we say: intriguing. Honestly the lack of Japan as a sponsor altogether had me surprised.

This is a clearly post-Brexit ESA :3.
There is no correlation. The shoddy Union and ESA are separate thing, just like Airbus in exemple. After all, Canada work often with ESA (they are a even in the ruling concil), and Norway and Switzerland in a part of ESA, not of the Union.

But I agree completly, more name list from more diverse coutry would be great.

Pfft, you talk as if the delusional Brexiteers wouldn't insist they can do it on their own; leading to an England Sponsor DLC that starts with 1 rocket, debt that must be paid back instead of funding, and "Scotland and Ireland wants no part of this madness" special rule that halves applicant generation. Still, people will play it for the sweet 500% score bonus.

You can look behind the scenes with the mod manager. Europe has colonists potentially coming from 8 countries, heavily weighted towards more populated ones. Also, it's the Europe sponsor, not ESA. Considering there would be claims made over Martian lands colonized, a supranational organization wouldn't share with a non-member state.

Incidentally, I had a look, and it took me just 3 hours (lol) to create a mod for a "British Martian Expedition". Turns out the UK does in fact already exist within the existing game files.
I gave flavour text for my expedition based on H.G.Wells "The War of the Worlds", and when I tested it ingame, it turns out the namelist used for the UK colonists has a lot of names like Bertrand and Cuthbert, which are fitting with a pseudo-Victorian setting, as they're not that common as names today. lol.

So, if you really want to, it should be possible to do your own such things.

There's only two nations in the game.

Terrans and Martians, lol.
Fun fact: "Mars" is a "country of origin" in the mod editor. You can have a colony with a sponsor already on Mars if you want, but that'd require giving every colonist the Martianborn trait.

Also, while the Swiss might not like it, it's technically possible to simulate a space agency from them as there's French and German (two of the four major groups in Switzerland) already in the game. You wouldn't be able to represent the Italian-speaking Swiss or the Romansh-speaking population, though...

Japan is in the list as well, so I assume either they're in the game somewhere or you can just add them in. The USA (NASA) has a 5% chance of their applicants coming from the UK and a 5% chance they come from Germany.

I wonder if any of this is placeholder for DLC as well. Japan makes sense as a sponsor, same with the UK. Though I expect there are mods already or shortly coming for these nations.

I assume Mars is in there to represent people born in the colony, but it's more than a little entertaining. A Martian sponsor would have major differences for some of the mysteries (the Last War wouldn't work unless your sponsor was still reliant on Earth-based resources for instance, which would make their expansion to another part of Mars a strange choice.)
