Chapter 7: Japan Has Declined

June 20th,1939 - December 31st,1939

By the time of the summer solstice,1939,the National Revolutionary Army had the strategic initiative, it had continued to gain steam in it's advance with the Japanese army already losing upwards of a few dozen divisions during the Manchurian offensive and the clean-up operations, however the Dalian pocket continued to hold out, with more reinforcements in the form of Infantry,Mountain and Marine divisions, but even they were getting worn down due to attrition and lack of supply... however they tried once again to land divisions to attack our armies and their reinforcements on their flanks, first in the west then in the east, they were systematically destroyed with our replenished forces, we haven't ran into severe supply issues for the most part, maybe it's due to many of our corp commanders being so-called logistical wizards...

S2WUGVG.jpg

They're getting ahead of themselves!
2GU7rZX.jpg

If we destroy these before they're evacuated, they can't be used in Korea.

Our air forces and intelligence networks report a Japanese fleet reinforcing Dalian to support the defense with naval bombardment, the Japanese have already evacuated most of their air forces for the area, with most support coming from carrier air wings and medium bombers based offshore and in Korea,we decide to sortie out with Li Shijias 13 cruiser-strong fleet, the result shocked the world, and especially the parties involved in the skirmish, in the week that followed 25 upgunned third-generation light cruisers were laid down, but only around half of these were worked on at any due time, due to resources still being devoted to Infrastructure and 4 Capital ship keels.

Cruisers: Made in China

With the remaining Kwantung Army units retreating into Korea after being battered and broken by the endless Chinese hordes which had sent so many of their other countrymen to their doom, without thought given to form any kind of organized battleplan, since there was no need with the massive opening in the northernmost part of Korea,we wanted to get there before the Japs could bring whatever they had left that wasn't in Dalian or on the western front with Korea, we especially wanted to shut down that extremely annoying airbase at Pungsan and maybe use it for ourselves for a change, speaking of aircraft, our agents in England discovered the secrets of Carrier-based air wings, seeing as how we had no close air support or naval bombers yet, much less carriers, we decided not to build any and focus on our battlefleet.

The path to Korea is wide open.

But can China Carrier?

As our researchers report advances on new support weapons for our Infantry, Mountaineers and Marines, news comes in that shocked the world, the Nazis and the Soviets have signed a Non-aggression pact, and as rumor has it, have agreed to divide Eastern Europe into their own respective spheres of influence,a few hours later, reports come in that the Wehrmacht have begun to mobilize their reserves and the Poles report German armies massing on their borders, some in the upper circles of the Kuomintang wonder if there's anything pertaining to Eastern Asia in their agreement, more start to question the wisdom of being aligned closely with Germany at this point, even Chiang starts to fear that the British will aid Japan to keep China from swarming her possessions in Asia due to China being perceived as a Pro-Nazi state.

njQpbyQ.jpg

The rumbling war clouds across the world continues to grow louder...

The day after,Li Shijia intercepts a Japanese transport fleet sailing to Dalian in a attempt reinforce it with fresh troops and/or possibly evacuate the units that have reached their breaking point,in the ensuing battle 1 light cruiser,1 landing craft and 1 transport are sunk,in the meantime the offensive in Korea is gaining pace, the Japanese managed to scrape together approximately 10 extra divisions in an attempt to seal the gap in the north, but against the entire army coming across the Yalu, they're little more than road bumps, with 2 Marine divisions getting trapped between advancing Chinese columns after being forced out of their initial defensive positions, the end result was all but guaranteed, continuing his patrols,Li Shijia encounters Japanese cruisers a couple levels above his own,the Japanese gain venegance for their earlier humiliations and the fleet is put out of action for a few weeks, in turn, we lay down 4 second-generation Heavy cruisers, to be worked on after our first sets of Infrastructure are done in early October.

Oh and they have that navy too,Li Shijia has his work cut out for him...

More cruisers, for every one they sink we'll build more to take their place!

On September 1st,1939, Germany invaded Poland after their refusal to hand over Danzig and the Polish Corridor to Germany, German frustration resulted in a staged incident near their border making it look like the Poles attacked first, but the United States knew better than that, as the British and French actually honored their agreements this time around, Germany finds itself at war with the latter 2 powers, but they fail to live up to Polish expectations,on the 22nd the Polish government flees to exile in London, the day after we decide to pursue a foreign policy independent of Germany's, with Zhang Zun being sacked in favor of Wang Jingwei, perhaps he'll be a good enough suckup to Stalin that he won't try to Sovietize China... on a side note, shortly after the Germans finish Poland, they punch through the Maginot line... what a great investment of nearly all of France's Interwar military budget!

HN0Y6m6.jpg

In A.D. 1939 War was beginning.
PJiFLgQ.jpg

We decided to stop associating ourselves with that madman Hitler, the Nazi's make even the Kuomintang look soft! We never hover far from their corner however, British influence seems to be waning at best, and the Reds have made no such overtures as of yet.
SrRp6BB.jpg

Frances forces are already smaller then the Germans after blatantly violating the Versailles Treaty for 6 years, but Germany also went to war earlier than what many German Generals would have wanted (loan officer von Falkenhausen happens to be part of this school of thought) only time will tell how long France can hold.

While all these going-ons were taking place in Europe and the Chinese Goverment, the campaign in Korea was making great progress, by September 6th we're already on the outskirts of Seoul,a few days later, despite attempts at evacaution by the Imperial Navy, the Dalian pocket has for the most part been destroyed, freeing resources that could have otherwise been used in the rest of Manchuria and Korea, even so,the fact that we're even pushing the Japanese off the continent was something unto itself, the Chinese by this point had absolute numerical superiority over whatever the Japanese could muster and scrape together, and with modern doctrines and nearly up-to-date weapons in addition to the wealth of experience gained during the Civil war and Manchurian offensive, the Chinese Army was confident of eventual victory, on the 8th of October the last push south begins, with the Japanese simply unable to fill all the gaps in the lines, they were quickly brushed aside by the Chinese horde, by the 27th of October Pusan had fallen and the remaining Japanese army, cut off from reinforcements from Saishu island and battered and beaten from all sides, start laying down their arms in larger numbers than before, surprising many in Tokyo and Nanjing alike.

BsBZMgg.jpg

Despite their defiant counterattacks, they are only meant to be sacrificed to buy time...
b00QCc8.jpg

Time to get boxed in that is.
0fZYow6.jpg

Japan has finally been kicked off the mainland, even with all the world's eyes focused on Europe, many still take note of the shifting balance of power in East Asia.

In spite of their catastrophic defeat however, they still refuse to give up,in an attempt to either force us to ditch Korea or simply as a last-resort propaganda coup to silence the growing number of pro-democratic protesters in the streets, the Japanese stage a landing just east of Qingdao, forcing our fleet and air wings to sortie out to stop the landing, but as the fleet happened to be led by the Battleship Mutsu, our fleet ends up losing 2 light cruisers and one of the ancient destroyer flotillas,in return for sending the heavy cruiser Asama to the bottom, with our interception attempt having failed,we move our garrisons in Qingdao and Weihai to the landing beaches, where they managed to repulse the sole Marine division that was invading,at the same time we send our forces across the Tsushima strait to raid Saishu Island, despite us having managed wipe out it's defenders due to the fact that the submarine base couldn't funnel in enough supplies to support both the subs and garrisons stationed there, we are unable to take the Island due to interference by IJN patrols, when things start to finally quiet down, our agents in Japan get us some rather interesting numbers about the state of the Imperial Army...

pI3N6On.jpg

Maybe we should give our pilots more hours in flying school after the war is over, since they couldn't hit a Pagoda even if they were flying straight into it, as a result our navy pays the price.

At least they died for good ol Showa/Hirohito

The rest of the year turned out to be a quiet time for China, giving our men much desired R&R, not so much of either for Finland though, when the Soviets attacked them on November 30th over their refusal to hand over Karelia over to the Soviet Union, despite going up against the full might of the Bear, the Finns managed not to get overrun initially, with limited and reluctant Swedish aid going to Finland shortly after the war begins.
WTzjYXZ.jpg

"They better not be planning to reinstall Sheng Shicai in Sinkiang..." That's all Chiang had to say on the matter, despite the fact that China would be ill prepared for such an assault due to the lack of Anti-tank and Motorized forces of her own,the sooner Japan falls, the sooner we can fix these issues and deal with the Bolshevists in due time...

Excellent progress, the mainland is clear apart from that little island near Korea, but thats always a pain. Might be worth just blocking their advance, if they have enough units they will try to break out. Then some fresh reinforcements could make short work of them after such a breakout attampt...

They got next left in the way of fighting power as far as the Army is concerned, but the AI is stupid enough to try and cross and stack too many divisions on that small island with the level 1 port, hence allowing me to destroy all those divisions there in the first place,i'll leave enough units to keep them from crossing over and leave enough of a garrison in Korea to reinforce them if needbe, aswell as to be able to stop any suicidal:rolleyes: attempt by them retake it,perhaps once my first capital ships and newer cruisers are commissioned,i'll try to take Saishu, aswell as Taiwan for that matter,or possibly skip that (And the resulting naval sorties) and go straight for Downfall and seize it all at once

(Probably around late summer/early autumn 1940 if things go well)

Chapter 8: Prelude to Downfall Part 1: China's Relatively Peaceful Rise

(January 1st 1940 - August 4th 1940)

On the beginning of the new year, which the Kuomintang's Cabinet was rearranged, with He Yaozu,Bai Chongxi and Gu Zhutong being appointed by President Lin Sen was Head of Intelligence,Chief of Staff and Chief of the Army, respectively.

PCmF207.jpg

State of the Kuomintang,January 1st,1940.

Entering the new year, many great things were expected to happen in China, one such thing being several of the technological breakthroughs expected help close the gap between it and the Western powers,a gap we must make as small as possible, preferrably non-existant or even take the lead ourselves,if we are to extract our vengeance for the Opium Wars and Boxer Rebellions, among many other things.

The future belongs to China.

As for the military situation it was pretty quiet,Japan was in no position whatsoever to try to contest our control in Korea,so we started marching a large amount forces back to the capital,to be reorganized for the eventual invasion, which we're going to put off until January 1941 since Japan is in no position to challenge us on the continent, and we would like to weaken the IJN before attempting a crossing.

During the course of January and February our tactical bomber forces level the submarine base on the island of Saishu, trapping many Japanese subs in their pens, the end result is the annilhation of what we believe is a large portion of their submarine forces.

FgnaPtW.jpg

Maybe there's hope for the Nimcompoop Air Force yet...

In March it was a very exciting time in both Europe and China, but for completely different reasons. In Europe the Germans have declared war on Norway, conquered France and called fascist Italy to arms,a move lameduck President Roosevelt denounces, stating that the hand which held the dagger had struck it into the back of it's neighbour. Under the cover of these events the Soviet Union marched into the Baltic States and annexed them.

On the 9th of March the first of our newer light cruisers were commissioned, with researchers also reporting the completion of research into this so-called 'RADAR' which they insist will help with the detection of enemy units and possibly even interception of enemy communications,by the end of March the 3 Hai Shen class battlecruisers,as well as the first of the Ton Chi class battleships are commissioned, with work on the other 2 keels expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The Fall of France and the Rise of the Chinese Navy.

Our forces slowly continued to build-up,with 4 newer heavy cruisers and a wing of Curtiss Hawk fighters with more powerful engines are put into service. Foreign Minister Wang Jingwei informs that the Soviets are finally showing interest in us aswell. Chiang is immediately suspicious, but Wang Jingwei tells him its simply them trying to influence us away from the Allies,in June we start building new 'Landing Craft' which are better than our older transports

iszsclN.jpg

jw1rHvw.jpg

This won't cut it against newer Soviet tanks, but it's better than nothing.
yG0175M.jpg

With these we should be able to get enough troops on shore quickly enough to establish a defensible beachhead.

On the 25th of May Germany declared war on Yugoslavia and Greece, forcing those nations into the arms of the Allies, despite the fact that Britain can do little to stave off the inevitable fate of these countries against the Nazi juggernaut, however it took Germany and Italy longer than expected to subjugate said countries, with the United States proclaiming an Unlimited National Emergency shortly after their fall in August, mobilizing America's resources.

24OBAcN.jpg

iD2bbQe.jpg

We'll see how things turn out in November 1940.

Intelligence report that the Japanese are expecting a landing around the Kanto region, with soldiers marcing around every corner of Tokyo's streets every day, eagerly (Or dreading) the day when one-fifth of humanity comes across the sea to reap it's revenge

To be continued.

An invasion of Japan is going to be difficult, but you only need to get a few corps across to overthrow the emperor once and for all. They can't have much more than what they based in Tokyo. Looking great, I like your approach with this AAR:)

Even with the time i'm allowing them to rebuild their forces, the main problem when invading Japan has always been the navy and supporting air forces in my experience, but as you've said once a few corps are onshore it's pretty much game over, and thanks :)

There is another chapter before we get to the invasion which i plan to finish up and post later today or worst case tomorrow, and then start with the invasion afterwards :D

Chapter 9: Prelude to Downfall Part 2: The War at Sea

September 11th 1940 - January 1st 1941

After several months of researching new doctrines, crew training and the near-completion of a massive shipbuilding program consisting of:
1 battleship (2 more due in November)
3 battlecruisers
4 second-generation heavy cruisers
25 modern light cruisers (Last of them due to be finished in a couple weeks)

The Chinese Navy is feeling bold enough to challenge Japan in her own waters,on September 11th,the 3 fleets move out to Japanese waters to provoke an engagement on Chinese terms seeking to destroy as much of the Imperial Japanese Navy as possible before the invasion, even though the Chinese Navy has now by far the strongest it has ever been in it's long history it was still facing the full might of the proud island nation's naval and air forces alone, and after a surprise naval bomber raid on one of our cruiser fleets,we establish contact with Japanese surface units, with the battle proving indecisive at first,we try to bomb them with the tactical air wings in Korea, they report that while their organisation takes a hit little further damage is done to the battlecruisers and their screening cruisers, this is the first of several naval sorties that take place throughout the remainder of 1940.

GvsVMwa.jpg

NiDsGD8.jpg

It could have been decisive.

Once the last batch of light cruisers have been deployed and landing craft launched. China lays down the keel of her first carrier which is a rather primitive carrier unfortunately, the only thing new about it being the radar system. It will be useful for training our carrier air wings and learning practical experience in building further and more advanced carriers, when we research further carrier technologies we will lay down 2-3 more keels, which should be completed sooner once the first one is completed. In addtion we start training additional air forces to support our navy in future operations, consisting initially of 4 naval bomber wings and 3 multirole fighter wings, accordingly we're also researching the associated doctrines in addition to aerial torpedoes with more advanced aircraft designs to come afterwards,we also ordered 8 newer light cruisers to replace any potential losses our suicidal brave naval commanders sustain in their sorties.

ry187JW.jpg

q5I7HrK.jpg

6QMLd4n.jpg

These will certainly be too late for the invasion of Japan, but that's not we're worried about.

Throughout October the Chinese Navy sorties out to provoke a surface action against the Imperial Armada, after losing a light cruiser due to a combination of bombing and heavy gunfire. The Chinese finally strike back on the 9th when patrolling cruisers managed to spot, isolate, bombard and sink their most powerful battleship, the Nagato in the Kagoshima Bay.

O57Pt6l.jpg

An omnious premontion of things to come?

The following day in 2 separate sorties, the Chinese lose 4 more light cruisers, but in exchange the battlecruiser Hai Shen lands a full salvo on Ise's aft, starting massive fires in the magazines and disabling 3 of her 4 aft turrets, moments later she goes up in a mushroom cloud before settling down on the bottom of Osumi Strait, with many Japanese hearing the massive explosion from shore if not already watching the spectacle unfold.

DF8PCDu.jpg

j74fQoB.jpg

Despite the propaganda value, the Chinese ended the day in a worse position than before.

After seeing the initial results,Chiang orders a halt to all naval sorties until the damaged vessels are fully repaired and the last 2 Ton Chi class battleships deployed and worked up in November.

i9VTX4T.jpg

Japan loses 2,China gains 2,what a lovely coincidence!

On November 1st Chiang appoints himself as the commander of the Downfall Army, consisting of over 500K men and their headquarters. Chiang moves his own headquarters down near Nanjing down the new road networks built during the Manchurian campaign which greatly increased the skills of millions of our construction workers,to where they could possibly industrialize China within a couple years time if we had the resources.

qdG0UQf.jpg

Now if only the rest of China's infrastructure could be that good.

In the 1940 Presidential Campaign in the United States (China will never have such shenanigans! That was something Chiang and Mao could both agree on) Gerald K. Smith defeats lameduck Franklin D. Roosevelt on a platform of non-interventionism in Europe and Asia, interestingly he is allowed to run as both President and Vice President to bring his America First Committee to power over both the Democrats and Republicans, with German-American Bund and Silver Legion candidates being appointed to key positions in the new goverment, which starts to align with Nazi Germany...

5b7wnvt.jpg

The United States of Axis.

When the new battleships and their crews are finally ready,we sortie out in force on the 9th of December, this time the Japanese are more elusive except in the Battle of Kashima Sea,where the battleship Fuso came under sustained bombardment by Shen Honglie's task force despite support from 2 large Japanese carriers, eventually she starts filling with water and capsizes a few hours before sunset on December 12th,no further losses were reported for the rest of the year.

TBRE4Db.jpg

RxMF090.jpg

Japan has declined even more.

Recorded naval losses in the Second Sino-Japanese War,January 1st 1941.

awQXsI4.jpg

bnsCD3Y.jpg

Shortly before the end of the year,we started production on 2 more heavy and 4 more light cruisers in addition to 15 of these 'RADAR' stations,we are currently researching fighter and naval air doctrines, battleship techs & doctrines (guns teched ahead to 1936 already) aircraft carrier engines and armour, education level 3,decryption & encryption level 1,nuclear research and mechanised offensive level 3.

Next Chapter: Downfall (For the lack of a better title)

Impressive naval expansion program and success at sea! It is great to see you'r able to beat the Japanese with these rather outdated ships so far. But wait until they throw their carriers into the fray.

That's the main problem by far needless to say :( so many times i could have destroyed more heavy units of the IJN,only to be foiled by their carriers,i decided to build carriers for China after all since i can get away without them for Japan, but as it turns out i'll definitely be wanting them against the British or even the Americans (Much later on mind you, hence i decided to support the right-wing parties to keep them out of the Allies until i decide otherwise,or they may even go Axis in the end...)

That blustering buffoon Mussolini has completely lost the Battle of the Mediterranean, the Chinese Navy has it's work cut out for it,expect even more naval production and research after Downfall!

Chapter 10: Downfall

January 2nd 1941 - April 25th 1941

Shortly after sunset on January 2nd, the Chinese invasion fleets and virtually every able Chinese fighting ship moved out under the cover of darkness to conduct the long-awaited invasion of Japan, when the sun rises and news of the landings reach the naval bases we don't run into the fanatical resistance we had expected at first. On January 3rd this changes when the 1st battle fleet encounters a Japanese force sailing through Seto Naikai to intercept our landings, with the battlecruiser Hiei being blown to smithereens in quick order while on the following day 3 more Japanese cruisers are sent to the bottom, shortly after our initial beachheads are secured we move the fleets back to port with interceptor wings being brought over, much to the annoyance of the Japanese.

A 1-2-3 blow to Japanese morale!

Encountering resistance only from a few port garrisons and a regular divisions in Kyushu, within a month virtually all of western Honshu had fallen to our forces. On the 1st of February our naval bomber wings are ready to be deployed, as it turns out they play little role in the follow proceedings. On February 10th the assault on the imperial capital itself begins, with our forward mountain divisions holding their own against the massive forces in the city initially, we try to support the battle with shore bombardment from our cruisers but the Japanese carriers Akagi,Zuiho and Chitose sortie out from Tokyo Bay with heavy and light cruiser screens, we lost 2 light cruisers but took out 2 Japanese heavies in exchange with our cruiser fleets taking shelter in Nagoya harbor, as divisions are brought in for the assault on the capital, news comes in that the last neutral country in the Balkans,Romania, has threw her lot in with Germany, this confirms many suspicions that Germany is targeting the Soviet Union next, non-aggression pact notwithstanding...

The situation in February.

As February turns to March our progress in Tokyo and Chiba is deteriorating despite a fair chunk of the initial forces being diverted to the battle, but Japanese units are making us pay dearly with every inch of ground we take and doing a number on the numbers and organization of many of our crack units, while the situation on land remains bogged down the war at sea continues swimmingly after the glorious 18th CL sneaks in a lucky night torpedo run on the pride of the imperial navy, battlecruiser Kongo in the Enshu Sagami Sea. Near simultaneously our battleships encounter the Ise and quickly dispatch her aswell, with intelligence reporting that the Red Army has begun to mobilize her reserves.

Certainly they can't be connected, can they?

Despite being under siege since February, we are no closer to capturing Tokyo and some of our generals and officers are worried that if we try to push our men any further, we'll be vulnerable to a counterattack. So it has been decided to attack other Japanese cities, ports and outposts from the sea to induce their surrender, on April 6th, Fu Zuoyi's assault corps conduct landings in Hokkaido and Sakhalin with only the latter offering very limited resistance before being taken.

Going for the Dragon's head (Not ours)

We divert our attention south to Taipei and Okinawa next, this will be the final push needed to make the Nipponese realize their futility in fighting us, their leaders realizes this, and in their desperation send the Kaga and Ryujo to foil our attempts to land, but by the time they had arrived on station and sent their air wings to attack our ships, a beachead had finally been established on Taiwan. The news of this quickly reaches Tokyo, with both the imperial government and military realizing that continuing the war would just end up destroying their country further, so shortly before midnight on April 14th,Emperor Hirohito goes on the radio and ask that his subjects 'endure the unendurable' and 'suffer the insufferable' while the high command issues orders for it's remaining forces to drop their arms and surrender to China. Their navy however scuttles virtually all of their ships that didn't seek exile in other countries, those that do make it are quickly interned and scrapped by the parties neutral to the Second Sino-Japanese war, Chiang believes the foreign countries just took those ships for themselves however...

Total victory for China, the first step of the Dragon's Revenge is complete, but we need to persuade the people to accept total war again, maybe we'll pay Macau and Bangkok a visit next...

Capital ship losses at the end of the war.

A week later 8 of our newer light cruisers are commissioned and improvements to battleship propulsion, armour plating are completed a few days after research was completed on even more advanced capital ship guns which in theory should have as much firepower as the new King George V-class the British will have completed by years end. We lay down 2 keels of these new battleships which are dubbed the Ying Ching class, their construction (Aswell as the construction of our cruisers and carrier) being accelerated in superior Japanese shipyards.

Anyone know if there is any way to preserve the power of Japan, including its fleet, and its technology, to be able to put him to the Comimterm. Once defeated by Communist China, which is the country that handling this game.
Is there some kind of event for China nationalist anexionarse Japan or something as well? If it is to move it to Communist China

I would imagine i could preserve the remaining forces of Japan if i was to puppet them instead of conquer it,but i have no desire whatsoever to have them as a puppet since i destroyed a fair chunk of their heavy naval units, the masses of Japanese soldiers that met their end or dropped their arms in Manchuria and Korea and i fully plan on using the captured Japanese industry and dockyards to build my navy up even further :D

I have no idea about such an event apart from choosing the Conquer wargoal on Japan,it sounds like it might be something that could be found in the HPP mod (Not sure) and i'm sure i could put Japan in the Comintern if i even was in there to begin with, even though i do like the faux cyrillic on Nationalist China to be honest o_O:p

I am playing with Communist China. Its the year 1942, I already pulled Japan Empire from all continent, I took Siam as puppet, and defeated all the other "Chinas" including Nationalist China. My idea was to puppet Japanese Empire for the reasons previously stayed, but as I said in one post in the Spanish Forum for HoI3, I were wondering how to do it, as well as the consecuences of triying to do it.

When you are at war with other country, there are some "goals" like making him puppet, "set up communism", or get some of its regions. In my case, during my gameplay I dont know why it only allows me 2 of them, unlike Nazi Germany for example, where it gives me the choose between 3-4 of them.

There are only 2 possibilities, get one of his regions (only one omg), or "set communism". What I want is just to took everything from Japan unless his own homeland, preserve it, preserve its fleet (in my gameplay its nearly intact or at least its still powerfull and an awesome wall against the most powerfull US fleet), preserve also its air force, and of course let him make dozens of divisions, planes and ships....

What can I do? How to make this goal possible?

Hmm,you should be able to add a wargoal every month,i'm not sure if there is any difference in being able to pick and choose wargoals when playing different factions or whether you might have even picked them in the wrong order. For example when you set your goal on puppeting them you can't change your mind and conquer them instead, there's a few other wargoals that disable certain other wargoals once selected but i'm not sure of all of them.

Think you might have to first pick acquire territory, then install communism and only then puppet.

Excellent work smashing Japan and her fleet!
It looks like the Regia Marina is taking a ferocious beating from the Royal Navy, but that is not surprising. It will be interesting to see how the Allies react now that Japan is not threathening their Pacific holdings. Of course, now there is China...

You can indeed add new wargoals every month. Wargoals have an order of preference in which they are enforced. I believe this is teh order:
-First retake cores
-then aquire territory
-then puppet
-finally conquer

So you can change your mind from conquer to puppet, but not the other way round. I do not think the order in which you added them matters. That does probably play a role when multiple countries with the same wargoals are involved.

With Japan out the way, it all depends on what you want to do next. I'd imagine you'll at least want to kick the British and Portuguese out. Maybe even drive the Russians out and retake Vladivostok?

I enjoyed every second of it,though i wish i could have destroyed even more:D As for the Regia Marina,i almost wanna say it was because i set the British to a war economy more than a year early once i attacked Tibet, allowing them to build up more or maybe because i didn't allow Japan to join the Axis, not sure if this has any bearing on how much the UK leaves in the far east

However China as she stands just after Downfall is nowhere near ready to engage the Entente Cordiale unfortunately, naval and air doctrines/techs need to be worked on in particular if i'm to take the fight to the Royal Navy, aswell as even more ships built to replace inevitable losses and eventually win the naval arms race.

Thanks for the info!
Your welcome :)

It has been decided to focus on Portugal and Siam first,to take Macau and East Timor from the former and puppet the latter and use it (Aswell as their forces) as a base to invade Burma,Malaysia and Indochina (And i'm already massing militias on the border with Hong Kong) and making other necessary preparations.

As for the Soviet Union, they'll have to wait both because of lack of readiness due to not having enough anti-tank guns built yet and not having a large enough army to undertake such a campaign,i wouldn't expect the Dragon and the Bear to go at it until 1943 at the earliest,i'd like to have some motorized forces of my own before i do attack though.
