The Greater Asian War
Immediately after the status of war had been declared, furious battles took place in the Himalayas mountains. Chinese units launched a surprising offensive in the eastern side of range, probably with the goal to reach the Ganges river, and secured the former Bhutanese capital of Punakha in just two days. But China was not the only one in the offensive: at the end of April Philippines commandos secured the ex-Portuguese colony of Macao, now an important economic center, while Japanese and Indonesian troops captured the Kinmen archipelago. While the Japanese bridgehead wasn't able to expand inland thanks to the incredibly strong Chinese Navy (famous example being the Varyag, which was able to sunk two Japanese carriers plus many other minor ships and became an excelent propaganda material), Philippines one was more lucky and vastly expanded, securing also Hong Kong and even Guangzhou for a limited period of time. Landings were also made at Qingdao by Philippine troops but Chinese units were able to cut them from the coast and surround them in the interior.

By mid-June Chinese fate seemed to be sealed: althought eastern Buthan and Burma were still under firm Chinese control, Indian troops were advancing inexorably in Taklamakan Desert, threatening the vital commercial routes with Turkestan, and Philippines divisions had taken control of almolst all southern coast and seized the industrial city of Shanghai, approaching dangerously to Nanjing and Guangzhou. The end seemed near at Beijing...
Chairman Hu Jintao was determined not to allow him to be remembered as the last Chinese president; he spent the last two year trying to undermine the power of the neighboring enemy countries. For years Chinese secret services supplied ethnic uprisings of almost every minority in India and Thailand and tried to destibilize the Syndicalist government of Indochina, but the amount of funds used in tha previous months was unbelievable. On the late afternoon of 21 june 1009, 5.00 pm Beijing time, the order was given to the local cells. People in Kolkata, Madras, Kabul, Lahore and Rangoon took arms and soon the revolution spread across India and Thailand.
The morning after five new states were born: Afghanistan took its former boundaries, Tamil people broke free in the southern tip of India, Pakistan and Bengala represented the two big groups of Muslims in India and Burmanese people united mainly thanks to Chinese tanks than common ethnicity. New Indochinese leaders could use the promise to get the many contested and resources rich island in the South China Sea to convince the people to join the fight along with China. By the end of the 22 june the seven countries formed an official alliance, also known as the "Shanghai Pact".
By september the tide of the war seemed to have turned: many soldiers deserted in the middle of the battle to join the various rebels or the Chinese and the Indian spearhead in Tibet and Sinkiang was alted and forced to withdraw. Under such an huge pression Thainlandese army nearly collapsed and Bangkok itself was captured by mixed Chinese and Indochinese forces. Tamil rebels swept in the peninsula up to the Godavari and Narmada rivers while a defensive line along the Ganges was formed against Bengala. Delhi was heavily damaged and in the famous "Battle of Delhi" countless lifes were lost on both sides.

But the hope was not completely lost: Indonesian troops flowed in huge numbers in India, freeing many usefull Indian divisions. Tamil forces were overhelmed by superior Sphere's armies, and by late october the area was again under control; meanwhile Indian mechanizeds formed another defensive line along the Indus successfully containing the Pakistani and Chinese forces. But the great blow was coming from the opposite direction: half a million Japanese and Indonesian soldiers crossed the strait at Kinmen spreading at an incredible speed in the industrial heartland of China facing almost no-existant opposition. Even if the war had then reached its real turning point, the attention of the world was brought back to Europe, specifically in Ukraine...
