Ops, I believe that I have not explained well: the PSA have been annexed back to the USA and now they have the same regions they controlled before the war (with the exclusion of Hawaii, let's make that Japan seized them). It's probable that the States will become a Canadian puppet, but I'm wondering who will led them (Bush? Petraeus? Kerry? Someone else?)... And about territorial changes, I was also wondering if Canada would have kept something from the USA (like how he can do with New England in KR); it would be like a reward for saving the States all these times...

Really, I'm open to suggestion, I didn't expected such a stunning victory from Canada!

I think the US should stay under a military junta ruled by Patraeus, maybe this time they learned their lesson about democracy after 3 civil wars. (Just make them Authoritarian Democrat, keep em there.)

Canada can rule New England, NYC can become its own state!

I just finished reading this aars and I must say it is really good. I love MDS Kasierreich aars and think there should be more. As for the post war thing I think Canada should annex New England, and Alaska, and should puppet the US. I think Peatrus is the most viable candiate to keep in charge of the states as he is the best candiate. As for Hawaii I think it should be annexed by Japan. Keep up the amazing work.

Canada gets Alaska and New England on ''loan'' for some years(national land is usually lent for 99 years by international law) as a reward for Canadian help, but USA are not puppeted by Canada, this would be too much. USA stays independent Canadian ally, maybe ruled by military junta to keep down dissent of population that supported Syndicalists and Corporativists). As for Hawaii, I think it would be most plausible if Japan seizes them. Btw, looks like that Petraeus is always saviour of USA.

Well it seems that was easy enough for the Entente once they actually got involved. I'm surprised there wasn't much reaction from the other world powers but I guess they don't fancy their chances of successfully sending an expeditionary force across the ocean to take on Canada in their own backyard.

I think that the US should remain under military control for now, with a transition back to democracy in a few years once the nation has been rebuilt, and maybe release New England as a Canadian puppet and let Canada occupy Alaska for 'security reasons' or something like that- it would be vulnerable to a Japanese invasion.

@SovietAmerika: yes, Petraeus could still lead the junta... About NYC, it's more plausible that it could either stay with the USA or integrated in New England (which can become part of Canada or remain indipendent).

@DjMangus: thank you really much! I agree with you, there should be more MDS-KR AARs, but without an official mod this is highly unlikely... Alaska is already under Canadian control (from the second ACW), and the States could become a Canadian puppet...

@Asalto: as mentioned, Alaska has been under Canadian control for almost 70 years by now, so... Well, Petraeus is not exactly the savior of anything, since only Washington was left... Really, Canada saved his ass and now the Queen can pretend whatever she wants, even puppet status.

@Zhuge Liang: well, almost everybody is busy on their own borders (like Free France, Brazil, Ottomans,...) or don't give a damn (Russia, China, MittelAfrika,...), and the others knew that Canada was the variable that could destroy all their plans...
You made a good observation, now Japan is really close to the Pacific coast, we may actually see some Japanese landings in California :wacko:

So we can agree that Hawaii go to Japan and Alaska obviously stays with Canada. Now we have to decide the fate of the ex-SSA states, not only New England but also Michigan, NY and others.

I think only New England should be directly absorbed by Canada. (and when I meant about NYC, I meant its own state in the union, not its own nation.) I think taking too much of the Northeast US is unwise, image how the people in that region would feel.

The effects of the American Civil War.

The United States have been saved by the Entete once again and, as had happened the previous time, Canada was to be paid for his help. The states of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island and northern New York were to be inherited in the Kingdom. This area didn't support the Syndicalists like Michigan or Illinois, being focused mainly on the tertiary sector instead of the industry, and although the population had initially protested against the new ruler, soon the strong Canadian economy started to revive the local business. Ironically Boston, known for her rebellion to the British Crown, was destined to become one of the most important commercial centers for Canada, easily rivaling New York and Newark. After mere months revolters have completely disappeared from the streets and many started to think that, well, life in Canada was not that bad, and from Ottawa to Boston everybody gained something.

The joint invasion of Cuba put an end to the last bastion of Long's ideas; the country, although well prepared, could not stand against the more advanced and more numerous Entete's troops and, after the total occupation of the country, was put under temporary Canadian control, before it could have been decided the fate of the island. Huckabee was not found and many believe he had managed to escape to Germany before the invasion.

After the loss of Hawaii and many Pacific island to Japan (except for Samoa, where Australasian navy prevented the IJN to make any attempt of seizure) and of New England to Canada, United States' economy was in a worse state than before, and the country was held together only thanks to the power given by the military junta, led by Petraeus. As it happened at the end of the Second Civil War, the foreign policy of the States was decided by Canada and the USA were once again close to become a Canadian puppet.

OOC: the AI is really dumb. I took nine American divisions that were sitting in Washington and I landed them on Camaguey (I had to, or the war with Cuba would have lasted untill the end of the game...) and the AI re-embarked them and sent them to Washington again, leaving just a one division garrison. A month later, the AI landed the same divisions I took. And I've set the AI on furious...

Anyway, time for decision: what will happen to Cuba? Will the island be given to Carribean Federation, will it remain under Canadian control or will be a new puppet created?

Don't make Cuba a part of Canada, I'm actually torn between whether to make Cuba a Canadian Puppet or a part of the Caribbean Federation. Considering Cuba's IC is potentially higher than the Caribbean Federation, I think for theirt benefit they could join the Federation, but Cuba being a puppet state supports my stance on such matters.

I wonder how happy people are with the US junta and their new Canadian overlords? Of course it's not as though any opponents can do much in the aftermath of a civil war...

I say give Cuba to the Caribbean Federation, they need all the help they can get if they're to actually do anything and it ensures that the island's a secure part of the Entente while being slightly freer than it would be under Canadian control.
