Returning Player Question

Hey there folks!

I am a returning player and I am planning to reinstall CK2 with HIP. Can anyone help clarify a couple of things?
1. Do I need to get Jade Dragon and Holy Fury? What is the overall impression of the community and how is it integrated into the mod?
2. Can I kill my sons and daughters?

Holy Fury is excellent. Jade Dragon is meh, but you should probably get all the DLC. Or yar har har it. Either way, I wouldn't play an incomplete version of the game.

I personaly hide most of them, because there are too much and/or they are too ugly or i want to my preferences.

I didn't know you could do that. Simply suggesting that talking about pirating is not necessarily a good idea on the official boards.

Holy Fury adds a boatload of stuff. Customizable pagan reformation is the coolest, bloodlines and sainthood the biggest day-to-day changes. The Dev Diaries will go through it.

Jade Dragon adds off-map powers, which should be modded into some cool stuff, but isn't a huge deal in HIP, among other moderately interesting stuff.

I buy every DLC, eventually, because I can just about afford it, and I don't mind if Paradox gets a couple extra bucks for their bang, from me, since I want this studio to see its Grand Strategy Games flourish. By my personal standards, Holy Fury was a "buy even before the first mod updates," and Jade Dragon was a "Wait until at least a 25% off sale."
