Hello,

I haven't played in a while and don't have the 2 latest DLC. As Brandenburg, is it possible to take out Teutonic Order before Poland declares on them in 1449/1450 without the Leviathan DLC? It seems impossible to get your allies to help in early wars without "curry favor".

Keep 100 ducats in case the event fires for the two provinces, after merc up. Get statin (?) to have access to the rest of teutons. Doesnt matter if you get a few loans, you will need to cool off AE after.

You can, even without allies. To do it alone you need a lot of loan, skill and luck. Also you'll get a lot of AE. AE and loan will criple your capacity to wage any war for the next 15 year but as long you can take the land to form prussia that's fine. Once you achieve millitary invincibility (aka forming prussia and playing 140% discipline space marine) you can even kill the PLC (stackwiping their army three time bigger in the process).

Honestly, I prefer to let Poland take most of them anyway, and come after the rump state for a vassal so I can use Reconquest later.
Same here. They never take the whole Teutonic Order in the first war.
Prussia can only be formed once reformation kicks off so you have +- 60 years to get the provinces one way or another. There will be plenty of opportunities to jump at Poland while you expand elsewhere and build up favors with your allies

In my experience Poland never actually takes the important provinces from the Teutons in their first war, just the ones that border them so you can clean up and full annex or vassalize for reconquest later. Getting the two provinces in Germany from them for 100 duacts helps but the event fires unreliably. And of course you need to annex Wolgast (or at least Stolp) first if you want to actually conquer teutonic Prussia which slows you down.

With the Religious Diplomat estate privilege you can Royal Marry Poland day 1, and depending on their rivalries you might even ally them day 31 (December 1444). From here it's not impossible to curry up 10 favours before December 1449, but even if you don't, you can call them in with a land promise and then in that first war, don't take anything but cash. That way you can control what Poland takes, as well as have a useful beatstick when later gunning for Bohemia and, in my personal preference, a later play against Denmark for Sweden.
