One thing I miss very much in this game that isn't integrated into the game is somekind of dumping place for the history and current state of the galaxy, also known as a ledger. Where you can marvel at all the current wars, wars that have been fought in history (with a short summary and timeline), current economical data, pop statistics, science output, historical galaxy map etc. etc. You name it. Of course, with the option to have it limited to not be able to cheat. Just like EU IV had a limited ledger option.
I know this option was never considered because Wiz was actively against having a ledger. I don't know why, I love statistics and history. It makes the galaxy feel more alive to me, plus having a ledger with an overview of crucial current information is always handy.
Of course, there is actually a mod / tool which does this. But it isn't part of the game itself, works fairly well:

Now that Wiz has left the Stellaris team, I'm hoping the new replacement will consider adding in a ledger with this kind of info.
