while i realise HA and LC work very well together, im mainly suprised that evryone seems to think light cav is actually counterproductive. i personally find them actually quite decent as long as you stick to a 1:5 lc : other troops ratio.

although I think it's outdated a bit. Or at least, the bonuses at this wiki don't seem to be the same as the cultural building tells you they are (especially the Housecarl one, the game does not say you lose HI defence)
