While I was updating my personal mod to the current patch, I decided to improve retinues by adding some more types of regular retinues. These new retinue units can be used as "building blocks" by those who like to build combined arms retinue armies. To ensure gameplay balance, I put in some cultural restrictions on who may use the new retinue units (To prevent "double-dipping" with cultural retinues).

Retinues Plus

Light Infantry (RETTYPE_LIGHT_INF)

  • 250 men
  • 0.2 Offensive
  • 0.2 Defensive
  • 0.2 Morale
  • Following Cultures can not use this unit: Ethiopian, Somali
Heavy Infantry (RETTYPE_HEAVY_INF)
  • 250 men
  • 0.2 Offensive
  • 0.2 Defensive
  • 0.2 Morale
  • Following Cultures / Culture Groups can not use this unit: Baltic, Finno Ugric, East Slavic, North Germanic, Israelite, Saxon, Old Saxon, Frisian, Irish, Old Frankish, Lombard
Pikemen (RETTYPE_PIKEMEN)
  • 250 men
  • 0.2 Offensive
  • 0.2 Defensive
  • 0.2 Morale
  • Nomads can not use this unit
  • Following Cultures can not use this unit: Scottish, Italian
Light Cavalry (RETTYPE_LIGHT_CAV)
