Restored Roman Empire Changes Successions

So I finally restored the Roman Empire for the first time. It was a glorious accomplishment, of course.

However, it wrecked havoc with all my successors and I now have a ton of warnings about losing titles on my death.

The Duchies of Sicily and Nikaea, along with several counties, are going to my younger sons, not my immediate heir. When I was the Byzantine Empire, everything was fine.

What changed?

How do I fix it?

It doesn't look like the Empire is Gavelkind. There really isn't an explanation anywhere.

PI games have always had funny results when you tag change. Save and reload and see if this problem persists, if you haven't already.

You're right. A save and reload fixed it.

Weird. I should have guessed that was the issue.

Always save and reload after a tag change in PI games.
