Restore Rome to Pope CB?

In my recent game as France, an independent Naples conquered Rome from the Pope.

I remember vaguely there being a CB you could use to restore Rome to the Pope. I remember it being usable against Christians and infidels alike. I don't see it though. Did that get removed or am I misremembering?

Maybe you're thinking of CK2? I don't think I've seen that in EU4. I think you're "supposed" to conquer Rome yourself then give it back to the Pope - I think there's a special event/decision, or you could simply return core.

There is indeed, and I don't think there's ever been a CB for it. However, that would be a cool feature for Catholic DOTF. Could even let you claim more provinces for a restored Papacy, provided Rome was among the restored provinces.
