I'm watching the progress in the AGCEEP Byzantinum thread, and it looks like very promiser, if everybody agrees, I sugest to propose our ideas to the AGCEEP Byzantinum thread, I know that the responsable for the mod (jorian) don't seems to be around here in the last weeks.
The reason to do this is are:

Most of the people would like to see the mod compatible with AGCEEP, and it caube much more work adapting the mod after each new release of AGCEEP.

The mod isn't advancing to much in the last weeks, maybe this one something was made but was not much, and transfering the ideas to AGCEEP maybe would attract more people to work on the mod.

As in the Byzantinum thread they are also making some fantasy events for BYZ, merging the ideas, and different points of view should be good for the two mods

Thats my point of view, if you don't agree, say it and nothing would be made.

Hope enjoy my idea. :)

You didn't awser, what do you think?

EDIT: I was hoping a quick reply

I like the idea of additional events for regular, Catholic and Muslim Byzantium and also for a Latin Empire (Say if the Duchy of Athens conquers Constantinople) but I have to express disagreement with Byzantium conquering all the way from Thrace to India. It seems a tad unrealistic to me, and overpowering. I would argue you guys should generally stay in anatolia and the balkans for Byzantium. Don't give the player easy access to such feats, I'd say. MAYBE give cores on Italy and/or up to Judea or possibly Alexandria. But that's at the absolute most. I think the AGCEEP events are pretty good for stock Byzantium. Just make a chance for Duchy of Athens to become Latin Empire and you should be good, with a few other bits.

But eh, just my humble opinion. Btw, much of the reason for colonialism was because of the trade from India.

I know that conquer India was to much, it wasn't me that have the idea, and yes, I agree with you that the colonialism start because of India, but I've already said that before on his thread.

Well a resurgent Byzantium would attempt to try to keep a part of the balkans and anatolia, and that being recovered would not have likely gone for the west, but rather the Indian ocean trade. It was extremely lucrative and about the only thing that the ERE could have gotten it's hands on. Similar to the Ottomans. In fact if the ERE had been on the resurgence, colonization would not likely be as big of a factor because then there wouldn't be the Iberians trying to get around the monopoly the Muslims had.

Im back, my computer was dead had to buy a new one, and in 1 week i will go on vacation. TOday i go to work so i cant read this all but this is what i had in mind when i started it:

Muslim Byzantine would be nearly the same as Ottomans with the same size. If Ottomans decided to move east (thus surviving) they could have their capitol in Baghdad or somewhere in Persia.

Orthodox Byzantine would be fragile but could gain its original lands back except Egypt OR some of east/middle europe. They could unify via diplomacy all orthodox churches and thus annexing those nations, so it would be possible that the orthodox church moves its capitol to Georgia or even Moskow.

Catholic Byzantine ...or more precise the Latin Empire would have 4 options (and thus 4 different ways) to go with:

-'Italian' way means they becocme strong in greece but possibly loose anatolia (not hard coded event, maybe an able player can hold to it), they become the main medditerran merchant nation and can gain cores on all italy

-'Aragonese' way means nearly the same, they have a better army, more intrigues, they hold to anatolia and greece and slavic lands and could gain malta, Sicily and Naples.

-'french' way mens they will have support from France thus become their ally sometimes and also become involved into some of their wars. Heritage wars could be possible in both ways (LE<->France)

-'greek' was means they become again strong in mostly anatolia and greece, with an option to construct many things and move their capitol to either Crete or Athen (or stay in Constantinople of course)

Effects on trade and expansion:

-Italian stays in medditerrean and becomes the biggest merchant empire

-Aragonese in medium trade power in meddterrean and has possibilities to expand in africa, asia (in late part of game possible colonization of India IF England did not make it yet)

-French becomes stability incarnated (if they survive wars), will not really expand much, but they can gain much land in America with the 'help' of France and their enemies.

-Greek stays greek. They have a small chance to make all orthodox churches join the 'one true faith', and they have a big impact on the 'faith wars era'.
small trade power, and has also a small chance to colonise Cuba and Jamaica.

This was my original idea. I have to have time to read all that what you posted when i was not here.
