What does the community think about getting more events specific to the rest of the world I think we have enough to the Far East and Europe. Please no spamming "The game is called Europa Universalis play Europe". I'm not really asking for it to be added because A: I don't believe they're going to do another expansion thus B: they might consider it for EU4, although I would love C: to get a DLC for flavor events.

I'm talking about events that are specific to cultures.
Why can't the Aztecs get human sacrifice decisions or disease events?
A Decision for the Arabs to unite into a nation possibly?
The Kingdom of Jerusalem is fun to form and a huge challenge to play...but seriously? Zero events after forming it, no conquest events for the rest of the levant? No special support from the pope or anything for being Jerusalem?
What about the Mongol Hordes to form the old Mongolian Empire?
A Silk Road achievement/decision/event when you control the old silk road from China to Europe.
Maybe a event to make West Africa richer for being the world's main salt/gold producers for a time.
Or give Kongo the ability to turn christian like it does in the early 1500s. There is so much potential in this

Anyone else got ideas for events? And please don't spam "get a mod" or its called Europa for a reason. I'm stuck on steam so I have no way of playing HTTT I have to use DW which doesnt have any of the major older mods atm. Some of us who enjoy changing history would like some more variety other than a tiny amount of religion events and the generic ones that everyone gets.

Myself and a friend are working on a mod to make nations more unique, partly by increasing the impact of ideas and sliders and partly by adding new decisions for neglected nations.

A Silk Road triggered modifier is a very interesting idea.

Why can't the Aztecs get human sacrifice decisions or disease events?
Because far more than that would have to be changed about the game to make it worth Paradox's time and effort. Even with a human at the controls, a frequent fate of the American nations is along the lines of:

Aztecs: Whew. I've got cores on everything I own, my neighbours aren't any dang-
Brits / Iberians / Dutch: Why hello there, pagans. Annexation, please, so we can teach you about God and the saints and make you good European gentlemen.

In general, though, yes, more flavour content for the neglected parts of the world would be good. (As, perhaps, would revisiting the "pagans can be annexed at 100% warscore regardless of size" rule.)

Why can't the Aztecs get human sacrifice decisions
Or give Kongo the ability to turn christian like it does in the early 1500s.
Anyone else got ideas for events?
Actually an Aztec decision for (human) sacrifice is in game. It could be expanded to "animist" states in general.

Besides Kongo turning Christian, the Funj and various Indonesian states turned Muslim during this period, Ethiopia went from Orthodox to Catholic and back, and the Oirats went from shamanism to Buddhism. There's a lot of potential for events/decisions relating to countries, especially pagan countries, converting to other religions.

A fairly easy enhancement is to expand the "Saint" event to other religions besides the Catholics: the Orthodox and the Hindus certainly had saints, and it's probably not restricted to those two.

These aren't really flavor events, but economic events/decisions which change the trade goods produced by a particular province. Trading patterns in the Americas changed a lot when the Europeans took over. And the various Caribbean islands didn't have sugar, coffee, etc. plantations on them when the Europeans first encountered them, so I put less fancy trade goods on them to start and then the Europeans can improve (some of) them to sugar etc., when they get the technology, by spending money/colonists/merchants on them.

Events which cause the Incas to expand their empire, which was less than a one-province state in 1399 but which has no mechanic for expanding in-game.

Missions for the Muslims (and others) to try naval invasions of the various Mediterranean islands, which the AI doesn't normally think about because they're not adjacent to anything.

These aren't events/decisions, but I like to enhance the cultures file (all of sub-Saharan Africa is one culture group?) and to give both the Africans and the Native Americans the abilities to have forts and send merchants to CoTs: all both realistic and add interest to gameplay. You can also add new government forms: I like "tribal monarchy" for states that were unstable but weren't constantly raiding their neighbours, while the Mamluks get a "republic" government with monarchial ruler names that has succession crises.

Also remove the "annex" property from Shamanism, which makes North America in particular play much more realistically. You can even remove the "annex" property from the Animists if you're willing to write missions for the Europeans to conquer the Aztecs and the Incas.

I'm stuck on steam so I have no way of playing HTTT I have to use DW which doesnt have any of the major older mods atm.
You might want to consider buying an older version of the game again, off Gamersgate or somewhere - it's pretty cheap these days, and considering how much time one spends playing the game if one plays it at all, $10 or $20 for a version which allows more mods could be a good purchase.

And it is arguably the worst decision that exist in the game. :) Also I believe the flavour text mentions "animal sacrifice". Political correctnes these days...

I think that what they mean is the less well-known part of Mesoamerican cultures:

"Common people would offer maguey thorns with their blood. Lloyd deMause has argued that, like present-day self harmers, the Aztecs also practiced bloodletting from cuts made with obsidian knives or bone needles on fleshy parts of the body, like earlobes, lips, tongue, chest and calves. This was considered private and a personal act of penitence toward the gods. The thorns were later placed in an adoratorium."

A Decision for the Arabs to unite into a nation possibly?
one nation with an union-tag for the turko-semitic culture group comes to mind.

The Kingdom of Jerusalem is fun to form and a huge challenge to play...but seriously? Zero events after forming it, no conquest events for the rest of the levant? No special support from the pope or anything for being Jerusalem?
Hm, yes, conquest missions for the levant are a start

What about the Mongol Hordes to form the old Mongolian Empire?
The Mongol Horde should get missions to unite the hordes again.
And there should be a decision to "Form the Mongol Empire" for all hordes of the altaic group (because the Mongol Horde already has the union-tag for this culture group)

A Silk Road achievement/decision/event when you control the old silk road from China to Europe.
Such a trigger should be relativly easy to create

Or give Kongo the ability to turn christian like it does in the early 1500s.
There is an event for pagan nations which gives them the possiblity to change to christian faith. Creating decisions for such convertions should be possible.... but only under certain circumstances (having a christian/muslim/hindu province next to you etc.)

That event, to my knowledge, has one of the highest MTTH in the game. You're more likely to win the lottery, form revolutionary France, and have the AI form Japan all in one day.

(I might be exaggerating. A little...)

This thread gave me the idea for a Jerusalem mod I'll post something in the next couple days.. thinking of a province modifier for Judea that represents another Crusade, increased base tax, large forcelimit and manpower increases, morale improvements, etc. Also a mission chain to retake the Levant along with some of the old centers of Christianity like Alexandria and Antioch. Maybe even a "revenge" mission to take Mecca could be fun...

well, just lower the MTTH then..problem solved :p

Not all of it. The event requires that the pagan has "Western influences" from westernization, which means that the AI is about as likely to get it as it is to conquer the whole world.

That is odd seeing as the term bloodletting is used exclusively for the archaic medical practice. I was not aware that yanking a beating heart from a living human was covered under any programs.

An event that uncovers west Java and gives colonists for SE Asian nations like Brunei or Aceh, and a mission to colonise west Java. I mean, forming Malaya for some reason requires west Java, and I often see Brunei (for example) dominate SE Asia but remain Brunei because they don't colonise west Java.

Apart from the already mentioned saint event there are among the random events in general a bunch that's restricted to western, european or christian nations that doesn't have to be (ie the effect or text does not seem to tie in especially to a christian, european or western country).
For instance:
Death of a Merchant
Improve the Capital
Clergy condemns philosopher as heretic
Grand Ball in Capital
Local Noble's Power Grows (here the restriction to Europe could be just as easily changed to the province not being overseas)
A travelling minstrel (could atleast be extended to the muslim and hindu world, probably more)
