well, what's wrong with them? they have horrible income, their special unit is useless against half the axis divs, and m4a3 sherman spam is too damn expensive so noone does it. They are basically worse french.

The best part about 3rd armored is that it teaches you how to support your limited infantry properly, because otherwise its completely unworkable.

This game is playing out just like COH. Allied players have to micro everything x10 more to just kill 1 tank, while axis point and click and go drink coffee.
Actually I think that the Churchill is harder to kill than the King tiger due to the time they come out.

Some pretty ignorant comments there. Really friendly environment, feels like the Eugen forums.

As for 3rd, they were ok in the beta, and shortly after release but as players get better they get worse. Allied tanks are not much use and you need heavy micro and smart play to use them effectively.
They can be ok in bigger team games but I would not use them in 1V1.

Thats because they are in a club of divs that are not made for 1v1

3 AD is fine. Vet 1 armored rifles supported by vetted light vehicles and mortars are probably the most cost efficient Phase A force in the game if used well. Then you transition into Jumbos, double vet command shermans, double vet sherman 76s, and air support. Vet 1 LMG rifles are absurdly powerful, 105mm boom cannon Shermans are absurdly powerful, and the only thing you have to be afraid of are CQC infantry and Panthers.

Before launch 3 AD was great in A, mediocre in B and started to suffer in C, just like most of the allied divisions. But now with the introduction of new units that can easily overcome and penetrate the former somewhat invincible jumbos (the king tiger wants to say hi), 3 AD is now just mediocre at best. It can not compete well on open fields anymore, its not made for infantry fights and the air tab is very limited. With a max AP value of 13 at 1200m (please do correct me on this if I got it wrong) its hard to overcome the heavy armored pushes on a open field in mid/late B and C, a problem that is shared among some other allied divsions. While other divisons can rely on their air tab or other units or they are simply not designed to be used this way, the only effective tool the 3 AD has at hand is the arty tab. If you manage to stun, panick and kill the stuff that can penetrate the jumbos, you have a chance. If not, well, good luck. What could be done abouit this, is either a buff to medium tanks in generell so that the 3AD is not so jumbo dependent anymore or a increase in the max amount of air cards you can take.

Edit: Another possibility could be a nerf to axis max AP value, so that the jumbos get their old bouncer-before-the-club-door role back.
