This falls somewhere between bug report and suggestion. I was playing as Thirteen colonies and I had the event "Respect our flag" (trade1) fire twice in ~10 years with the target both times being my colonial overlord: Great Britain. Within the current parameters of the trigger everything checks out so it isn't a bug per-say.
Could a provision on the triggering prevent this event from firing between a colonial nation and its overlord? Since the colonial overlord receives trade from the colonial nation it is likely to have more trade in the colonial nation's home node. Furthermore, The event defaults to a choice between losing thirty prestige or 1 stability as the only valid casus bellum between a colonial nation and her overlord is, of course, colonial independence.
Thank you for your time.
