(Playing as Germany with latest C.O.R.E.)
Normally when I play Germany I wait until the events give me austria and cz.
but now i tried to get steel at the beginning of 1936.
I invaded poland with the starting-forces of germany.

when i captured all main provinces i saved the game and had a look at the resources.
the steel production of warschau has gone down from 30 to 0 and was now growing again to 12.
then i annex poland.
with the annexing steel production was set to 15.
that where only 50%!!!
And all the years this did not change again.
No chance for my industry to run at maximum level.

Then i loaded again and puppeted poland.
no the steel production was growing to it orig. level 30.
But i doesnt geht the ic and only a part of the resources...

isn't that unrealistic?

Annexed provinces give you only about 50% of their base resources. There have been a lot of threads about this lately, and I'm sure they can give you a lot of info on how much IC and how many resources you can expect from any conquered provinces. Just check what's on the first two pages, that should be more than enough.

Not really. When you puppet the nation, naturally it continues to extract resources from the ground at the same rate. And it gives the bulk of those to you. But when you annex, you have to deal with an unfriendly or downright hostile populace. You cannot expect them to extract resources for a conqueror as enthusiastically as they extracted them for themselves when they were independent.

The unrealistic part is the idea of Germany invading Poland in 1936 without getting stomped by Britain and France. It's kind of strange for you to do that and then complain about realism in how you get resources from a country you should not have even been able to conquer.

The allied will kick my ass, i i invade them.

Would you later in the Game annex or puppet them?

Sweden should be puppetted. Norway could go either way, but I would lean towards puppetting as well. You'll get more steel that way.

But since Norway could conceivably be attacked by the Allies (if you don't count the Soviets, I don't think I've ever seen it), annexing wouldn't be a bad decision either.

There is another option, but it's very risky, and tough to pull off. Position a transport fleet off of Oslo and Narvik, declare war, and invade immediately. It's possible (I've never tried it), that with a large enough troop superiority, you can capture the two provinces before Britain/France declares war. Then you can annex or puppet (even more preferable, since it would help to keep your badboy down) them. Britain/France might declare war a few days later anyway, but it's worth a shot.

I'm not sure what would happen if you invaded Norway in 1936, but in my current game (1.06 vanilla normal/normal) I pulled off a coup in Sweden, turning them facist, and then launched an invasion in April 1936. I attacked with two waves of three infantry divisions each (I only had three transports) and conquered/annexed in July. The Allies didn't declare war, and by attacking a facist coutry I saved valuable War Fever points that let me get to the Austria, Sudetenland, and Memel events before WWII broke out.

One thing though. DO NOT USE ARMOUR! I had naturally saved my game prior to the invasion, and when I went back later to fool around I discovered that every time I included my three panzer divisions in the invasion I was immediately faced with a DOW from the Allies. Don't know why, it just is.
