Is the resource model complex, i.e do you need x amount of iron, y amount of gold and z amount of manpower to build 1 artillery unit.

As far as I understand Provinces do yield a certain amount of resources, but are they only used for trade?

Do provinces have an inherent production of a certain resource and in that case is it somewhat historically accurate, i.e does Peru hold large silver mines?

Thanks in advance

No the economic model is not similar to Imp2. Roughly it is like this: There is tax income based on province population, productionincome based on the major commoditytype and the amounth of production. All these and some more auxillary incomes are dependent upon your countries infrastructural efficiency. Then there is trade incomes which is directed by a demand&supply mechanism. basically you fight for marketshares by sending merchants to Centres of trades (CoTs).

It is with this income, translated for simplicity into ducats, that you buy/invest in everything in the game as troops, ships, buildings etc.

As above province has a population that pays taxes per head, the population also produces things and sells it on the home market which you tax, and the part of the production that goes as export you can gain trade income from.

Yes, there has been some major research to find the historical productio types. Though silver symbolized as gold in the game.
