I tried it at 1280X1024 with the download version and it CTD'd every time. I had to go to 1024X768 to get it to work again.

I just used the command line version to change resolution to 1280x768 and it worked like a charm. Just remember to create your own bitmap loading screen as the instructions says in the right resolution. Might be the cause of the CDT you guys had?

Anyway widescreen works!!!!!!!!

Glad you got it working. I never had a problem with HOI2 and the 1280X1024 setting other than the graphical glitches which don't bother me. I'll look into it further though. Thanks for the info.

Tried it again at 1280X1024 and it still crashes. I guess I'll have to wait until someone comes out with the DD version.

Thank you General!! That worked beautifully.

For anyone else who may need it this is what I did.

In the DD gfx folder I opened the load_1024.bmp in PSP. Resized it to 1280X1024 and saved it as load_1280.bmp.

Then I ran the HoI2ResChanger1280.exe program in the Doomsday folder.

Now it works and I have my wonderful 1280X1024 res. All is well with the world!

While we're on this subject... is it possible to run this game in 1600x1200? Even 12x10 is such a waste of screen real estate for a 20in monitor?
