Resolution stuck

I just built a new PC running win 7 ultimate 64 bit and I installed CK2 and it runs great save one issue. It will not let me change the resolution it. I cannot even change it in the settings file in my documents. The only way I can change it is to change my desktop resolution and CK2 will do whatever resolution I set there. Before on my old computer I could just change the resolution in the graphics options in game. Now those arrows in game are grayed out.

rightclick on ck2.exe > properties > compatibility > put a check in runa as admin

then see if you can change ingame resolution

No that did not change anything in game sadly.

* Click on your "Start" button.
* Write dxdiag in the search field. If you are running 64-bit Windows, use dxdiag /64bit
* A box called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should open.
* At the bottom of this window, you will find a button called "Save
All Information".
* Click this button.
* A box will pop up prompting you to save a file called "dxdiag.txt"
* Save this file to your "Desktop".
* Now you should see a text file called "dxdiag.txt" sitting on your
Windows desktop.
