After 2.0 there are too many physic research on galaxy map and I think that this is so because of several things:
1. When new borders were introduced, it was said that each system will have at least something worth to claim. This was implemented by guarantying that main star of system always have some resources.
2. There is only two possible resources on stars - energy and physics.
3. In 2.1 multistar systems were introduced. Though additional stars not always have resources they increased that disbalance.
As result after 2.0 i never build physic labs. There is no need in them.

Based on my not-exactly-statistically-significant sampling, it also seems anomaly outcomes are more in favor of physics than the other two. Realistic, perhaps (there are so many more interesting physics things in space than there are biological), but not the best form a game balance point of view.

I fond that I have a ton more society research till well into the mid game because of all the gene clinics I build. That said I do find far more physics research over engineering in the systems I explore as well

Does it matter? If you've got too much of one kind of research, you can just build more labs of the other types.

It would be interesting to have some anomalies or something that made some stars give something other than energy or physics research.

I can't think of any though.

This could be adjusted by just reducing the amount of physics research given per star.
