research of ad hoc money bill

Played MP game last night. Researched Stock exchange ok then selected Ad hoc money printing (AHMP). i researched it after about 18 months. I got the pop up message to tell me it had finished. I was unable to select another tech to research as it automatically selected AHMP it finished after another 18 months then the same thing happened. Then again. So it go stuck in a look researching this. We restarted the game with no joy.

Has anyone else ecountered this at all?

I have encountered once, that I researched one invention twice.

In my game it was caused by the autosave option. In EU2, when the host autosaves, the rest of the players can do nothing. In Victoria you can still do everything, but it will not resolve anything. So you can make factory workers, but the option remains, the factory workers don't change and the resources are not lost. Then, when the autosave is over, all actions taken are done, so the worker is changed and the resources are lost. In the example, I had pressed the research button twice during autosave and it placed another research in queu.
I also accidentaly misused this bug, I placed a unit I just built on the map during autosave and because it didn't respond, I did it again. When the game resumed, I had placed two divisions. I tried this again later to see if it is a real bug, but then it didn't happen.

You both made a simple mistake--you clicked to research the tech twice.

In MP, becuase of lag, there can be the temptation to repeatedly click on things until they go. In general, this is ok to do, but not with techs. If you click more than once to research a tech, it'll just repeat endlessly. The only way to stop it now is to edit the save file.

it should only research it by how many times you click it.... 2 clicks, twice, 5 clicks, 5 times

something else: the effects take place both times. so unfairness can ensue. also, mobilization, if you click a bunch of times, you'll get much more that 5 per 50sa/50cg

Thanks all for the replies. Yes it was caused by me clicking multiple times. Thanks anyway will try to be more carefull. Vicky is a great game but MP is not quite as stable as HOI or EU2 anyway good work all round.
