But there should be more actions and events binded to your capital. Lets say you conquers someones capital, and you get option to release or not prisoners of your enemy. You could have for example CB to rescue member of your dynasty or ally. Right now it is sometimes annoying that your family members on other courst become imprisoned in silly wars, and you cant ransom them cause they are not from your court, and you can not invite them cause they are imprisoned.

You can't wage war if your close kin is bethrothed or imprisoned by the guy you're trying for attack.

The war would be like this:

King X declares war on king Y to free prince Z.
King Y executes prince Z because he is from an enemy country.
War ends inconclusively (casus belli no longer valid).

Yeah a plot for this would be great. A CB would be self defeating.

Although it would also be nice just to have a bit more freedom in ransoming prisoners.

That happened a lot historically. It would work if the engine could dynamically change a CB. For example, if prisoner dies then CB changes to take prisoners of your own.

Prisoners mechanic needs to be improved; and on that subject, hostage mechanics as well. Like trading children; having your son being educated in the HRE Court while the Kaiser's son is educated in your French Court, for example.

I have an even bigger problem that I think could be solved by prisoner events of a sort. Fighting a French Civil war as the Duke of Toulouse against the Duke of Aquitaine, I was taken prisoner and held in Bordeaux. Why should I have to take on any mission at all to rescue me? In this situation we are already at war. I sent my son over with my armies combined into a 10k stack and took the whole County of Bordeaux hoping to break free.

My suggestion: This should have freed me from prison or given an event that did so. Unfortunately, even though I controlled Bordeaux my Duke stayed a prisoner of war in the Dungeon his troops now control.
