I was trying to make my perfect species, and last 4-5 games I kept getting the anomaly early, so I never paid much attention to what type of planet, and scientist found it.

Now the last two games I have gone into, 1k stars not managed to find it. So what exactly are the requirements to get a neural symbiont? Is there a specific class of planet? Does the scientist traits matter?

I think it is a tropical planet but I'm not sure.

I think this anomoly is less likely now.
I used to get brain slugs, Nivlacs and the paradise planet early all the time and now it usually takes a lot of surveying to get them.

The trait is not as good as it used to now that pop growth is king and the slug phopia planet debuff is nasty now at - 20 stability(that existed before but was one of those toothless happiness debuffs) .

Based on the game files, it's a level 4 anomaly. Doesn't seem to have a planet type preference, but has an increased chance of spawning if the planet has a dangerous wildlife blocker.

Hmm, I thought it was rank 2? Then an additional research to get the critters? But I suppose rank 4 makes more sense as it is potentially a fairly major event.
