Post your requests for the next patch here! Just thought I would start a thread for this...

Here are mine after playing for a few hours...

  1. Give an upgrade feature to stations so we don't have to delete and reform them
  2. Increase capacities on vehicles (impossible to make money now)
  3. Add a column/s to the data graphs that shows the following:
a - Total money made for a particular vehicle that you bought over its lifespan (+or-)
b - Ability to click a vehicle and replace it with a newer model without having to go through many different options
c - Total money made per line (+/-) over lifespan not just one month like it is now
  4. Ability to click a building and then have it show where people are coming from by highlighting the other buildings on the map and also ability to have it show where people are going to when click on a building
  5. Car traffic should decrease the more people that use mass transit (i have not noticed)
  6. Ability to click a building and have it show what lines people are using to get to work and whether or not they use more than one line to get to work

Thoughts? I think this is a pretty basic list that should get things started off well. I've played a bunch of games like this and these are pretty basic features...

Yeah the ability to see where people go/come from on a building by building basis was in traffic giant (2000). You'd think they'd have played this game since this is basically a remake :)

The things I am requesting are pretty standard things in any tycoon game and I also don't think should be too hard for them to implement as its minor scripting things and not new 3D graphics, etc. These would make the game much more playable and enjoyable.

Autosave, quicksave, bugs fixed.

How about the ability to click on a person to see what routes they use to get where they are going? Maybe I am missing something, but I have no idea where people change routes (ie: from a bus line to a tram to a metro). Just a line on the screen pointing out their route would be awesome. Right now I feel like this is a good game, but a couple of features and conveniences away from being great.

And I second all of Mattlab's points.

For me:
- Line by line reports so I can see which line is making money and which is costing me the most to run
- Option to install Tram right-of-way at road crossing (not running on the road but just crossing)
- Tram and bus lanes
- Scheduling - either set a frequency for each route and ensure you have enough vehicles
- Tram reverse - double-ended trams and tram crossovers
- Single track tram lines - make better loops
- Bridges and tunnels for trams
- light rail vehicles - LRVs
- Trolley buses
- overhead centenary for trolley bus and trams
- commuter trains (s-bahn) - its so nice to see the trains, but I want to run them too

I disagree with raising the passenger limits. This is a public transport game, and should be difficult. If you want easy, go play "The Movies" or something, because that's a business "sim" that got it all wrong and truly did make it too easy.

Personally, I find that the game is a little too easy to turn a profit.

Damn straight on capacity, starting point, and adding/removing stops on lines without having all vehicles restart at the beginning.

Right now all on-road vehicles, aka buses and trams are useless due to low capacity and their low average speed due the fact that they stop for everything like jams, pedestrians, bums, etc. Right now, unless you build tram lines completely off-road, they will cause and will get stuck in jams.

I love patches

I still like my suggestion to have the gamer's ability to increase petrol (gasoline here in the US) and diesel prices, just like in real life! Increased taxes and prices subsidize mass transit and decrease the use of cars and trucks (lorries). In one fell swoop, you have improved gamers cash flow and decreased excessive traffic which is one of the main problems with the game as released in version 1.10. A very "elegant" solution, if I must say so myself!

I don't think the capacity needs to change, I think part of the challenge of this game is that you actually have to avoid making really popular lines until you know you'll have the infrastructure to support them. You shouldn't just be able to make one loop that covers a whole city and chuck some buses on it and hope that it works. And to anyone who thinks it needs to change because buses can usually hold more than 20 people, the game is not to scale! Houses are not to scale, roads are not to scale, speed is not to scale, population is not to scale, the numbers in the game are not meant to represent real-world data.

Traffic is also part of this challenge, but I do think that some work needs to be done on the precedence on buses and especially trams. I think a good idea would be to make sure that cars always give way to public transport but I don't know if that's something that can be done easily. I just know I had way too many occurrences of trams getting stuck when they had to cross a road even though the tracks were 99% off road.

Easy access to more information would be very helpful, especially if there was some way to judge how many people would want to use a line before you start running it. I think this would show the game in a better light as well because people would know if the line is either going to be underused (not make any money) or overused (cause traffic jams, decrease happiness). At the moment the only way to do this is to save the game, open the line, play in fast forward for a few months and reload if it's not right.

Also some more things I'd like to see are upgrading stops, auto/quick save (really need these), an easy way to see if a line needs more or less vehicles, and less variation on ticket price/wage fluctuations. It's not fun to spend a few minutes every game month randomly clicking up and down arrows until you see green prices and smiley faces.

One more thing - please increase the character limit on save games and named lines! They both seem to be unnecessarily small.

I do think the game is great though! Thanks!

Tasks that work in the scenarios would be nice. The first Amsterdam scenario in the campaign seems to indicate you were supposed to do everything without metros. That would make the scenario way harder, and probably more fun than the cakewalk it currently is. Also, tasks keep getting assigned even if you don't finish the logical precursor to it. IE: Task 1: Build a metro line. Task 2: make bus and tram lines that connect to your new metro line.

I want to see cars switch lanes when there is more then 1 lane going one way. It's so annoying that tram lines and buses will keep to the right lane but so do cars which makes the extra lanes useless...I don't think the number of passengers need to be changed...just the cost of running the transportation ...reduce everything including wages/maintenance/costs and such about 25% and we might be able to make a profit, that and make traffic a bit more intelligent...we are forced to used trams and buses to start with, but they need to be able to run without major micro management and such. When there is a traffic jam, cars should change their routes to try to get around them...not just keep piling up block after block after block.

I think the problem is that while vehicles and passengers operate in real time, the economy does not. The people and buses and streetcars wait too long at each stop and take forever to load and unload, and they also wait for the passengers that just now got to the stop... all while days are passing by. A train/bus covers 3 - 4 stops in a DAY (in-game)... makes no sense.

Haven't played much of CiM (only spent like 8 hours on Berlin map and won it because of glitched objectives) but here is some ideas:
  • 25% less traffic in general and traffic should decrease more then you've made infrastructure
  • Ability to upgrade stops without deleting them from each line
  • Beter spacing for public transport - in a while all my trams\busses just move as one line.
  • Ability to end tram lines with tiny (1x1) circle so both tracks are used.
  • Ability to adjust bus routes to avoid roadblocked streets.
  • Fixed missions objectives - for instance Berlin map is totally out of it's pahse: you can do nothing, play till 1929 and take a loan to get 15.000 and win.

For future content updates i'd like to see an ability to edit cities itself like adding bus only lines on wide roads, editing roads and crossroads, constructing bridges or underway passes. Also, some eye candy like building contruction and etc should be add aswell to show us that city is really alive.

Vehicles also break down WAY too often. BRAND NEW vehicles shoudln't break 2 days after they are purchased. They should work flawlessly for 2-3 years before they even start to break down.
Well, I believe no qualified drive will work for salary I payed them in Berlin 1924, so they broke it just for fun or because they are not smart at all.
