Request Relative as Heir is disabled on Very Hard. It shouldn't be.

As far as I am aware this is the only feature that is strictly disabled by changing the game difficulty. I do not think this game design decision is in line with how very hard is supposed to work. Very Hard makes the game more challenging, but it doesn't outright stop you from succeeding and overcoming greater odds. However, Request Relative as Heir in exchange for 90 favors does not work at all on higher difficulties.

I would suggest the following change:

- 20 Very Hard

- 100 [target country] has more development than [player country]

- Requires Royal Marriage / Alliance with Target for at least 50 years; similar to how you need to wait 50 years before you can integrate a personal union.

- Reduce the number of added reasons for using favors.

- Add reasons based on your diplomatic reputation.

No feature should be disabled by changing the difficulty settings. Very Hard makes the game more interesting and compelling by increasing the challenge of facing the AI, but blocking a feature completely has the opposite effect and only makes the game less fun in my opinion.

It is a weird restriction. VH difficulty is only for SP and only for people who are intentionally subjecting themselves to an increased challenge, and anyone who is doing that is more than capable of adding any of their own restrictions they think are needed to make the game challenging. It's not like there's the argument of the sanctity of ironman/achievement games since those are all doable on normal.

People who want can straight up save scum on ironman without much difficulty. It only has as much meaning as the person playing it gives it through their actions. There was never any transferrable sanctity of the game mode...not in Pdox games at least.

Right, I wasn't saying the ironman/achievements were a good argument for gameplay changes, but that even those who would make the argument in that instance can't reasonably make it for Very Hard mode. And anyone who wants to cheat can just download the cheat engine table to give themselves max money/mana in Ironman, probably turn on winwars, and make the game effortless.

All they need to do is increase the ae for doing the action. If I remember correctly, very hard used to add 20% or 25% ae. I might be off on the numbers. I didn’t even realize that it was changed until recently.

Anyone who wants can just use the steam cheats to unlock all achievements, going through the effort to cheat in ironman while there is a normal mode with cheats included in the console is a strange decision

Nah request relative makes Christians too easy. You'll be married or allied for probs 50 years to get enough favours anyway

I first thought it should be available on Very Hard, but I realized after playing for a while, I could make all the big christain nations have my dynasty on their thrones. It made me feel like I was making this level alot easier ,this feature is imho way to OP.

In my current game as England, I could have easily gotten Spain, Austria/Hungry, and Commonwealth with my dynasty. Spain and Austria/Hungry I could have claimed thrones already. WIth France in a PU, I would have quite the game than, no point in winning with that setup.
