First I want to say I am super grateful to Wiz and the entire development team. The last and upcoming expansions both are wonderful and go a long way to adding depth and customization to the game. Take my money!

I did want to request or ask if it was in the works, to get more metrics, specifically map modes. Now that pops will migrating across the galaxy I would love some sort of visual representation of where a certain species is concentrated (and maybe even different sized/colored arrows telling me where they are migrating too).

Other Cool Ideas for Map Modes and Metrics:
A map mode that colors empires by how friendly they are to a specific species.

A metric or map mode that ranks empires by tiers of strength (I would love some acknowledgement once my empire is strong enough to go toe to toe with a Fallen one, besides just seeing "equivalent". Acknowledgement on both the map mode and diplomatic exchanges with other empires would be super cool. Why aren't small empires shaking in their boots if am three times their size when I call them up? Its always arrogance or friendship...)

A general pop density map mode.

A map mode that shows which sectors (or all space for that matter) are more developed (gaia worlds, or building levels could feed into this).

I am sure other people have requests.

Yeah ...
Map-Modes, Which don't have silly Colours to show Stuff ...
Empires (with Vassals) and Federations for Example ...
It is much better, that a Map-Mode shows Me an Empire (with Vassals) or a Federation as 1 single Blobb.

Overlord/Vassal and Federation borders, with special thicker outlines would be nice indeed. :D

It'd make them look a bit more like a single block, but vassals and federation members would still show up as unique star nations. Just within that thick marker outline.
