Request : is the game working with proton?

Happened to me as well for my first combat. But when I restarted and reloaded the game, it worked without problems. I've played it for a few hours and barring some minor graphical glitches, it works great.

Same, Finished the tutorial and spent some times on the first vangard campaign, 3h and no crash or major bug to report so far.

Didn't work for me Tried restart, new game, different mission, even different versions of proton. Black screen instead of combat.
Also, crashes on choosing commander for scenarios or multiplayer.

Maybe trying to upgrade your graphic card drivers can do the trick? You can also launch steam from a term and see what error you get on the terminal, can help.

OS: Antergos Linux x86_64 
Kernel: 5.2.6-arch1-1-ARCH 
CPU: Intel i7-4790 (8) @ 4.000GHz 
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 
Driver: NVIDIA 430.40-2
Proton: 4.11-1

Everything is up to date (
When combat starts I get in the terminal

The entry point method could not be loaded due to Could not load file or assembly 'PresentationFramework, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Today nvidia drivers updated, nothing changed, everything works except combat.
Also, doesn't even launch via wine.
What am I doing wrong?

@delirium_sidhe would you mind posting your computers hardware specs, your distro version, and proton version? Perhaps we can identify an easy fix by just changing one of those things. I know that the game wasn't working for me until I updated to 4.2 of Proton.

It proved to be quite simple. You need to rename dowser.exe file in /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Age of Wonders Planetfall/ to something like _dowser.exe. After it make a copy of AowPF.exe file and rename this copy to dowser.exe. Then launch the game from steam.

Just got to the main menu. Looks like you don't really need Paradox Launcher at all...

There is easier solution, in lauch options put: DO=(%command%); "${DO[@]/%dowser.exe/AowPF.exe}"
