Request Invasion?

I am currently Emperor of the Byzantines, and I have mended the Great Schism. I want to request an invasion of the HRE, who has more titles and the Kaiser is Orthodox, but it says he has a different religious head even though I mended the schism, and I thought all Orthodox characters were supposed to have the same head. Any way I can make his religious head the same as mine so that I can invade him? Any help is greatly appreciated.

He's under the bishop of Rome. You're under Constantinople.

It is pretty much a moot feature if you operate as the Emperor since Ecumenical Patriach of Constantinople only has jurisdiction over Greece and Anatolia (not even all of de jure Byzantine, notably Sicily,) which you securely control throughout the game.

If you wish to have a say in any other area, you'd need to move your capital to Rome and ditch the Emporer title. To my knowledge Ecumenical Patriarch is locked to Byzantine/Roman Emporer.

Or at least it was for the two games I've played Orthodox headquartered in Constantinople and Sicily.

The Pentarchy. Five Patriarchs plus local leaders for kingdoms, any that don't have one are ministered by the Ecumenical Patriarch (Const.)

His religious head is probably the Patriarch of Rome. Look in his character tooltip or the Patriarch map-mode when you have the religious interface open.
I'm unsure about how to achieve having the same religious Head but try moving capital to Rome.

Both Sicily and Constantinople are under Constantinople aren't they?

This is why I am unsure.

Possibly by granting the bishopric of Rome to a heretic and killing any Patriarch for the HRE might allow you to ask the E.P. for it.
Do you have a claim, or is the HRE bigger than you? Because those will block you as well.

Finally I'll Suggest Marriage, Murder and Massacres(War) as a possibility to secure the Throne.

In my Sicily game as on and off Byzantine Emperor, Sicily switches between its own Patriarch and the Ecumenical one. The Ecumenical one has jurisdiction if I was emperor, but as king of sicily I had my own.

Hence why I think the Ecumenical Patriarch is tied to the Byzantine Emperor regardles of where you plant the capital.

Edit: Maybe you could move your capital to Rome and then grant the ecumenical Patriarch independence. I'd do it but both my games are currently ironman. As in rather than being tied to the title it might just be because he's your direct vassal.

Orthodoxy, Nestorianism, and Coptic Christianity (Miaphysitism) are autocephalous religions: though they pay lip service to their respective pope or patriarch, the court chaplain for each kingdom tier title or above is the de facto religious head for the realm (though this gets a little messy with Pentarchy seats). This makes sanctioned invasions borderline impossible to get for anybody who isn't a Catholic.
