I've not been around much lately, some of you may remember me from the day 1.2 was released until decemberish asking for 1.1.3 to be made available, so it should come as no surprise that I want to be able to play 1.1.3.
With the recent changes to the official policy of no other versions allowed ever (see http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?747911-Playing-with-old-version as well as any beta thread) I would like to ask again to have 1.1.3. Having seen no less than 6 beta versions of the game available at one time it is very clear that making 1.1.3 available at least temporarily would in no way be taxing on the system nor would it be harmful to the game. If for some undisclosed reason steam isn't desirable for this, a non-steam release would also be acceptable.
Some potential problems about older versions that people may not be aware of that should be known before discussing this matter that I am personally completely ok with:
1) DLC incompatability: None of the DLC will work with a version older than it, and it never will.
This is perfectly acceptable to me since I utterly disagree with the design direction PI is taking with this series, if somehow they undid all of their work since september and started making improvements to the game, I would no longer need 1.1.3 to enjoy the game so there is strictly no downside here no matter what the future holds IMO.
2) Ancient Bugs: no support for bugs they have already fixed in other patches... I don't know how anyone could actually ask them to refix bugs they've fixed with a straight face but since it was brought up before I'll explicitly say that they won't be fixed and that I again have no issues with this.
I don't want to get bogged down in arguments about version superiority, and I would happily take any version from 1.0-1.1.3. I suspect a 1.2.x version would be desired by some of the population, but honestly I don't see this request "snowballing" any more than that since 1.3.x, 1.4.x, and 1.5 are all currently available.
PI, please let me have my game back.
