Yep. *Hands Rommel22 three denarii* The other two will go to whoever posts the epithet he was known by.

Personally, I would want to be able to Romanize my own name in blatant disregard for historical convention, but beyond that I'd like the AI to suggest names.

I want historic names to be used for the respective nation.

Raczynski said:No, not really. Ceasar's uncle's name was Sextus, for example.
Alhazen said:Indeed. You really have no idea what you're talking about, bushbush to be quite honest. While it was customary to give certain names to first born children it was not mandatory nor followed. For example, the first born son in the Cornelii Scipiones was traditionally Publius.

As for what I was trying to say with all this (if indeed anything), is that we'll probably get a number of Hannibals, Hasdrubals, Hannos and the like.
It'll be interesting to see if they implement an "epithet system" (for lack of a better word) of some sort... and if so, hopefully a more "advanced" one than in RTW.

Thus we are left with very limited amount of historical data on names, be it Carthage, the Avreni, Celteberians and other tribes.
We know the most common names in Carthage that were used, so yes we will most likely have some repeating as was the case, and as is today too, which is fine. There were many Hasdrubals and Gisgos and Hannibals, so it is ok to have them in game as well.
The idea of an epithet system is a good one.
I think best would be a list of names per culture and you being able to select one with each newbornalvaro said:definetively!
maybe if paradox set the names automatic but editable it would do.
