Republican Spain's focus tree provides two ways to become stalinist:
A) When the Civil Wars starts choose communist and then follow stalinist doctrine
B) When the Civil War starts choose to keep the Republic and go down the focus tree until you turn communist. This unlocks stalinist branch focuses.
Choosing route B you will have access to all democratic branch focuses and to all soviet aid focuses, which are basically most of the industrial focuses of the stalinist branch. This provides a huge industrial and research incentive for choosing option B. You gain a lot more factories and dockyards plus lots of research boosts. On the flip side you loose -5% civilian factories for 3 years and switch "Army of all classes" (3% recruitable population) for "Professional army" (1% recruitable population -10% training time). That does not compensate at all.
So my question is why are there 2 stalinist paths that are so unbalanced? Why should I even bother to go route A?
