The republican rulers with a fixed 4 stat plus two 1 stats feels quite dull and unpersonal compared to monarch rulers who can have any random more dynamic stats and also a more personal dynasty.

The suggestion is something similiar to how the Dutch republic elect rulers where you can chose from two different ones with random not so static stats.

I would love to see merchant republics having a similar election system where you could chose from 2 or 3 different candidates, perhaps one each from the 3 factions aristocrats, traders or the guilds. Each candidate would have random stats and give more flavour to the republican ruler and the election of the ruler.

Or maybe paradox for some strange reason has never seen any of these.

But i support your idea i don't like that every guy only can be a 4-1-1/1-4-1/1-1-4.

Maybe you wouldn't just chose. Selecting a republican ruler might just increase their chances of being elected, along with other factors.

You shouldn't be able to see the stats upon election in republics, it should be random with it being more likely to have higher stats in the catagory you chose (military, admin or diplomacy).

The appeal of republics include things like a lack of regency councils and the ability to have direct control over your monarch point gain. Introducing randomness just for the hell of it is not a game upgrade, sorry.

And people like that static consistency. Just having it weighted would not make it doable; it would have to consistently roll, at minimum, a 4 to meet the current situation. If you want to fix that number (or make that 4 a minimum floor and have it roll from a 4-6 range) but random the other two, then you probably end up buffing republics, which I doubt was the intent of OP's suggestion.

Because they decided that the design for republics should be "your rulers are on the bad side of mediocre by default, but you can make them better by re-electing them... at a cost".

Now, an extra option of the form "trust the nobles/oligarchs/parliament" that gives you a randomized six-point ruler in exchange for an RT boost might be interesting.

What I want and tried to hint at was a larger chance of high skill in the catagory you chose, example of how it could work:
Chosen catagory: 1 point = 95% 2 points = 90% 3 points = 80% 4 points = 70% 5 points = 50% 6 points = 30% There'd be a new roll after every won point
Not chosen catagories: 1 point = 70% 2 points = 40% 3 points = 30% 4 points = 20% 5 points = 10% 6 points = 5% These would roll separatly, there would be 2 'not chosen catagories'. Also same as above
